totally irresponsible
we vilify a woman because she suggest she does not have to be in the battle of war to support bush, troops, policy.

we say average joe (supersize dude) looks scary because he votes for bush

we tell a smoker you do not love your children. i know this because you smoke

we call it abuse when a parent restricts t.v. watching (we listen to the same woman say homosexuality is a choice, but not for cousin joe. he really is)

what have we become as a society

a woman shares in a divorce battle a husband was accused of molestation. a boy old enough to speak out, in an odd situation, during divorce to accuse, there raises a red flag. at that point any person seriously looking for truth would stop and question. we do not. why is looking for truth so important. we want all healed. if that mom made up story, and convinced son to do it, and father didnt molest. (why would we want a child to have burden of being molested when not, living in lie). without owning that truth they can never heal. and that includes the child we say we are protecting. nuance, i know it is tough for some, but it is life. an example. supporting troops. a bush could say that means the being there for them in thought appreciation whatever, blindly. dont question. and they (like the dem protecting incest stance) will tell me if i do this, then i do not support troops. but i can argue how me voting kerry is supporting troop. it is seeing the truth. i can tell you how i am supporting the victim by questioning him. it is at least aving an intent for truth. if i know that boy was convinced to do by mom, then that is what we heal. why would i refuse the boy the opportunity of healing to allow him to open up and tell the story.

that is what is bothering me about niece. i know her, love her, raised her, i am a mama.....she is all of our baby. i know why she is doing this. i know the tough she has had in life. i know the lies she tells. i have watched the fathers and grandfathers not call her on lies, always.......when 12 i tell the men, guys, she is playing you. dont allow it. for her. if someone never calls this girl on a single thing, at any point in life, what does she learn? do you think she is going to have a good life. lordy

so i listen to all this arrogance telling me, what studies say, and i say how foolish do you want me to be.

i wont do it for you all. i love this girl. if the need is for her to finallly take responsibilty in life and for once not be a victim, maybe she will be able to free herself of the shackles and have a friggin good life.

do you see, you can not judge as a whole you dont know., but at least take the time to ask a question or two. because if not, how you are setting your mind to lie to you

at that point it does no good questioning the republicans in this. cause as long as you are doing, you dont have authority.

then, people on this board has the audacity to tell me pg 101 of my perfect parenting. and read a quote. a same bullshit quote that suggests all to shut up, dont think and follow procedure.

there is no way i am going to stop using my brain, because someone tells me to. that they know better.

i suggest aNYONE WhO WANTS TO PLAY A GAme today. to read the subject: this man is scary. and then look and see that it is seriously being suggested i be afraid of supersize dude. think about the question asked the other day about how do we lie to ourselves. instead of being so damn worried about the lies, bush is a good christian, that the repugs tell themselves. look at the ones we tell ourselves. all day long, on this board. would be an interesting observation, because, i have listened to a lot of people on this board, that has been here for a time, saying what is up with du. sounding like blANK ON THE REPULICAN site.

it is feeling like a place of non think

3. I think (?)
you are saying we should not be judging others so harshly without enough info? Is that it? Your message is not clear, seabeyond.

I wouldn't take what people throw out on a message board so much to heart. It's an impersonal form of communication and posters often use examples just to make a general point. I don't think the young Republican woman was "villified" for her LTTE. It was used to point out the hypocrisy and disconnect of her simplistic little defense and the OP related it to the bigger picture. When someone writes a LTTE, their comments are fair game.

Maybe what you're reacting to is the need of some progressives to speak out now--to really tell it like they see it. It is not easy to overcome the liberal tendency to always play nice in the face of oppositional forces which are not ever going to play nice. These powermongers have taken every advantage of our traditional willingness to put up and compromise. It's time to fight back. Obviously this has reached the level of abuse by the current government.

I suggest trying to get a little more objectivity or you will wear yourself out sympathizing with everyone you see as downtrodden. Try not to identify so much with them on a personal level. Gotta keep a balance there, not always easy in this world. :)
