Now is the time for Dems to release own version of "Contract with America"
They don't necessarily need to come up with a name for it, but they need to start pressing on issues that are important to Americans.

- Health Care
- The Economy
- Stem Cell Research
- Education
- Gas Prices(Alternative Fuel Sources)
- Jobs
- Minimum Wage
- Gay Bashing,(not gay marriage, but gay rights)

The one thing that is hurting the Democrats right now is lack of coverage from the media. We keep hearing from the pundits on the right that the Dems have no plan. Well, I think now is the time to attack, and lay out a positive message to the American people. I believe Hillary and others have already started something like this.

The Republicans are currently having to deal with the Iraq war, ethics problems, and the extreme religious right. Why can't we use this opportunity to show the world why Democrats are right on the issues that are important to most people?

1. What Media???
Every time something is said contrary to "the corrupt ones" it gets slammed as some sort of plot to overthrow the government!

The Fourth Estate have lost their way, or have been BOUGHT.... big time!

I agree with your sentiment, but who will start the march??

2. The problem is the New Democrat/DLC plan is the only one out there
and it's a great plan if you're a yuppie. It won't do a damned thing for most of us out in workaday land who live paycheck to paycheck, find our health insurance completely evaporated, have been screwed out of multiple pension plans that our paychecks were docked to fund, and who have no hope at all for a better future, not even under that DLC pie in the sky economic plan.

All the fundraising stuff disguised as surveys that I've gotten from the DNC since the election fiasco have been based on that DLC plan, also.

If the DFA groups don't start hammering out their own economic plan soon, I doubt the Democrats will have a shred of hope in 2006 or 2008, not even with honest voting.

The GOP offered tax cuts, at least. The yuppie plan doesn't offer a damned thing.

4. I totally agree, but add the deficit...
and everytime someone even mentions the word "filibuster", spout back about wasting time on 7 extreme Judges while ignoring Iraq, healthcare, jobs, energy, economy, trade deficits, and the national debt.

There are alot of pissed off fiscal conservatives out there.

This is the lesson of George Galloway for me, everytime they bring up a topic.... change the subject to the REPUBLICAN IGNORANCE of the things AMERICANS VALUE.
