Who's to blame for anger at the US?
http://www.thewmurchannel.com/helenthomas/4513547/detail.html

It was a act of desperation when the White House tried to blame Newsweek magazine for America's low esteem around the world, particularly in the Middle East.

The Bush administration could look in the mirror and see that the real cause for rampant anti-Americanism is the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

3. THIS IS TOO EASY... I FEEL LIKE I AM CHEATING
:freak:

Let's see... Could it be... SATAN?

No?

Then it has to be the current administration and the idiotic choices Bush makes when appointing everyone in his cabinet.
Condee?
Bolton?
Gonzalas?
Rumsfeld?
Wolfowitz?

The list goes on...

Then there is that insane Iraq-Attack. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED? Killing a bunch of innocent Iraqi people who are trying to figure out what a purple finger means... Pulling people out of their houses and shipping them in metal containers to Guantanamo and torturing them... The freak show at Abu Grauib?

Okay... I get it... We have a prancing monkey on an aircraft carrier wearing a flight suit showing off his balls and we wonder why the world is disgusted with the United States of America?

No one on this site is at a loss for words on this topic.

I am not going to give one more dime to the DNC until Howard Dean goes public with what the GOP is all about. I am sick of the Dem's grabbing their collective ankles and saying... FUCK ME! I love that painful feeling of being a LOSER! :puke:

At your quote:

The shitstorm cometh, and it will be stealth." (Lady Texan, on DU)

But back to the subject. I personally blame the senseless American's who put these neo-cons in power. Now, I know it's easy to point the finger and call them names like "senseless" and "neo-cons" but the evidence supporting this accusation is insurmountable. One need only look at background information (a simple google search would do, for all you FR stalkers) and find how PNAC was formed. The way the CIA (ahem, *daddy) put Hussein in power is an atrocity in and of itself. And our own government is responsible. They love war, they want to control the worlds oil supply, and the way they do it is by instilling fear and citing God as their reasons in order to get the religous base off its collective ass. SO I blame the nimwits that vote for these fools, even though they have not really elected their leader these past two elections, they simply stole the election. The * voters are complicent.

5. There is no anger everything is getting better, better, no anger, better,
Why do you Liberals insist on being negative? Everyone knows America is Loved and Adored throughout the world, it is only the "Liberal Media" that is saying different. We are mighty, we are great, everyone loves us,everyone loves us, repeat after me, everyone loves us. Now feel better...

8. The neoCON corporacrats,...they've been spreading oppression,...
Edited on Fri May-20-05 07:26 PM by Just Me
,...for several decades. The greed-driven capitalistic machine that has POSSESSED our favorite gal, America, has evolved into a reckless, boundless, painful influence on the world. I do work so very hard to remind her of the principles that made her great. I remind her everyday of risk that she will devolve into the enemy she sought to escape. I know America would be in great pain if she discovered that she had allowed herself to possessed by the darkness of her enemy.

I'd say that if I had only one absolute rule to impose, at this point in time, it would be honesty. It's a basic rule, NEVER BEAR FALSE WITNESS,...one that is a simple tenet advocated by all religions; a fundamental rule recognized by all humanists/secularists and atheists; a demand by every single decent human being. Any human structure of justice requires that THOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS. Democracy certainly cannot exist without demanding compliance with such a simple rule.

However, there are those who set aside that very basic and fundamental rule to be truthful. They prove themselves GUILTY of placing their own self interests above human justice and democracy. They are so self-involved in their own power, they sacrifice the one rule that humanity MUST HAVE to imagine justice: TRUTH. They are oppressors!!!

They are oppressors proven by the fact that they sacrifice a basic, fundamental human tenet: TRUTH. They will characterize all those who OBJECT to their oppression as "uncivil", "rebels", "evil", "recalcitrats", "terrorists", "extremists", "radical", "enemies", etc. in order to advance the oppression they impose. They always have,...they always will.

Humanity will always overcome them, the oppressors. We always have, we always will!!! We are the ones who ALWAYS sacrifice the most in order to pull humanity forward. WE are the ones who ultimately advance humanity. We are punished in face of the "oppressors". But, those "oppressors" ALWAYS get what they sow,...whether on earth or in hell.

9. Say it aint so... a religious nut job is here too...
Inflammatory for me to use the term "religious nut job?"

Yep.

Can't we explain politics without quoting scriptures?

Which by the way have nothing to do with politics...

If you want to play that game, why is it Christians never use the term:

"Blessed are the peace makers."

Huh?

Jesus never said:

"Blessed are the assholes that invade countries and kill people for no other reason except to line their pockets."

Come on religious people, keep up with what your lord and savior was trying to tell you... Leave the Mosaic laws behind -- They are done -- Jesus was trying to change the status quo, that is why he was nailed to the fucking cross...

Man... I can't believe I have to write this... Jesus was trying to claim a new era -- He wanted to cause a rebellion...Follow me, your new messenger and the true son of God. That was his message. He was not into stoning women to death for some sexual misconduct. He was for forgiveness. He wanted to render up to Caesar, what was Caesar's... He wanted to keep religion separate from the government.

I have read every single scripture... I have studied the thing/Bible inside and out... I am not buying into the current rhetoric and can not sit by while our Constitution is hijacked.

Quit quoting scriptures that Jesus did not endorse. He was the one who loathed the way that the people of his time honored God. That is why he was CRUCIFIED. Don't you get it?

Jesus was killed because he was a LIBERAL.

I am a born again "Scientist" who can not abide the unholy nature that has taken over the this administration.

Please... Is there no one that will cry out in the wilderness to stop this insanity?

12. Hmmm,...telling the truth is a univeral rule.
There's a number of ways to express that rule including prohibition against bearing false witness. I don't "quote scriptures" to play games. I am certain Jesus advocated truth-telling, as well.

I'm not sure whether you are detracting from the fact that the evolution of corporatism is delivering oppression and suffering upon people around the world or you are expanding on the point I was making by pointing out the way the corporacrats have hijacked Christianity or you are advocating the vision of Jesus Christ (apparently not since you are a born again "Scientist").

Regardless, there is little I can disagree with in your post if read as a stand alone. I am curious whether you, a born again "Scientist", are willing to exercise the tolerance necessary for the existence of a plural society such that universal rules recognized by all good human beings no matter what their walk in life can be respected.

13. Tolerance and my account with .rr.com
To SHRED - Yes- My RR account was up to its knickers with mail clogging my system- I had reset my account and forgot to check-off that nasty little option to remove mail from the SERVER... DoH!

As for tolerance of other peoples belief systems..

I would be the first person to stand up for your constitutional first amendment right to practice your religion as well as freedom of speech.

I have had the scriptures used in almost every argument on every blog site I've used in an attempt to sway me regarding everything from beating my own children to a woman's right to receive an abortion - which by the way is not mentioned in the bible... but they have tried.

I maintain the principal that a society needs structure and requirements from its people to be successful - Necessary evils if you will. Police, the talking heads on the tube that are SUPPOSED TO DELIVER THE NEWS... HA! Taxes (sigh) and a regard for our fellow man.

My own children have never heard one word said about anyones race or religious preference. As far as political issues, I can't say the same. I am far too outspoken to keep that part of my brain turned off -The words spill out like water over a dam when I see Condee or Rumsfeld... Scotty McClellan open their mouths -- I almost have to stick my head under a pillow to keep from going nuts..

Santorum is a good example of how a political idiot can outrage me...

As for your right to quote the bible, quote away -- Just try to remember that it will bring out the wild dog in some of us.

Peace to you.:toast:
