Former White House counselor Karen P. Hughes will take over the Bush administration's troubled public diplomacy effort intended to burnish the U.S. image abroad, particularly in the Muslim world...

she will work with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to reinvigorate the campaign for hearts and minds overseas....

aims to promote American values of democracy, tolerance and pluralism abroad while combating negative images propagated in many parts of the world.....

her son graduates high school next month and Hughes doesn't want to leave Texas until she's helped her son get settled at whatever college he is going to attend.

Certainly leaves a host of questions about BushCo's concern for the US image in the Arab World that the person selected to lead the booster effort won't start her job for more than 8 months. . .
