"They're barbaric and backwards." - GW Bush.... 5/20/05.
Bush clarifies his death of diplomacy policy.

Reference is to the President's dismissal of a suggestion that the public pix of Hussein in his underwear may inflame more violence against the US. - as seen on MSNBC

Explain what you consider this to be, Mr Bu$h.

Peace.

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - Be it MNA Day 4 or 8 or 15 or .... the day will come when 10s of millions of Americans and others stop their typical activities for 24 hours and urge 10 times that many to join should another MNA Day be required. On that glorious day what we once called "America" will emerge.

12. I heard it on the news and grimmaced.
Could it be any more barbaric than what happened at Abu Ghraib? What about when the Army was torturing parents over the safety of their children? Any more barbaric than Shock and Awe?

I guess he could trot out Bolton to clarify: "They're backwards and barbaric" our nominated UN Ambassafor would say.

37. He was mostly speaking about the insurgents,
but it was easy to generalize his statements, and seemed insensitive. What was the point of namecalling in his comments?

I have to say, I think OP on the thread about Bush* trying to rile terrorists up so they'll attack us might be right on the money.

Barbaric and back-wards. That's a good description what he did and is continuing to do in Albu Graibe and Gitmo Bay.

17. It's all over the Internets. Here's BBC News:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4568235.stm
Idiot Boy is about 1/3 way down the article, saying as follows:
'Barbaric and backwards'

US President George W Bush said he did not think the photos would encourage insurgents in Iraq.

"I don't think a photo inspires murderers. I think they're inspired by an ideology that's so barbaric and backwards that it's hard for many in the Western world to comprehend how they think."

As the freepers always say, thank God we have a man like George W Bush as president during times like these. (Yes that was sarcasm.)

20. This man is a menace.
Alright to give this lying war criminal the benefit of a doubt, he probably was talking about the Islamic fundamentalist jihadists.

How hard is it going to be to spin this into "Islam is a barbaric and backward philosophy."

Come to think of it, I as an American and a Christian had to give him the benefit of a doubt.

Will the average person on the streets of Karachi or Baghdad or Islamabad or even Cairo give him that benefit of a doubt--no way.

and please let me point out a detail. Did you ask yourself if the average European, Scandanavian, Australian or Chinese would give him the benefit of the "doubt?" If not, why not? Just curious...

36. I play "spot the troll" by noticing how worked up they get about beheading
As if it was the only standard for barbarity in the entire known history of the world.

In fact, lethal injections performed incorrectly subject the victim to prolonged and absolutely agonizing pain.

27. You're right.
The rest of the world won't give him the benefit of a doubt.

My "benefit of a doubt" was rhetorical, in truth I think that Bush is a menace to the world and that by tossing off this seemingly casual line he is in danger of totally destroying whatever shreds of credibility that this country had left in the world.

What will the reaction of most Americans be? The 40% who despise Bush will say it's evidence either of his mental deficiency or his inherent evil. The 40% who adore Bush will agree with him and praise his "tough talk" and the 20% or so who are not strongly for or against him will, sadly, probably give him the benefit of a doubt but may come to realize that he is, in fact, as I've said, a menace.

25. Bush is doing this on purpose
He knows that this whole thing is going to piss people off and that is exactly what he wants to do. Bush thrives on death and destruction. It is the only way he will be able to keep his power. He wants everyone in the world to end up killing each other. That's what this is all about.

before 9-11.

I posted about it on another forum that I was on at the time. You could just see Bush was trying to insult the whole world and I kept saying, what is he trying to do? Set off a terrorist attack? Now they are desperate and he is doing exactly the same thing again. How can we stop them?
