I am going to be there the day Bush resigns
Edited on Fri May-20-05 09:40 PM by xray s
The day is coming. I can feel it. Something is going to break. A revelation from an insider, on the record, will finally expose this man for what he is. A 43% approval rating will look like Mt Everest after that.

The public is starting to turn, and when they are done turning, the road back to the Waco pig farm won't be wide enough to hold the load of shame that this man will haul back home.

I am going to be there. Watching through the White Hosue fence as he slithers across the White House lawn and walks into the copter that lifts this insult to our democracy and contitution away. Far away where he can do no more damage.

I want to see that. I want to be there.

1. I'll give you a $1000 if he resigns
Ain't never going to happen. Not with this Congress, which will be back 90% in tact after 2006.

5. bush could screw a goat, live on TV, in the rose garden, and
the mainstream press would praise it as him showing compassion for farm animals, and half of america would swoon.

this country has gone way around the bend.

7. Exactly
Between the idiot, brain-dead press and the christo-fascist bootlickers who want to be ruled, this place is royally fucked.

It's funny, really. Once you get used to seeing how things are, you do eventually begin to laugh at it all - like the "W" stickers I see all over I-83 months after the "election" ended. These people are gone in the head. So is the U.S.-fuckin'-A.

The public is starting to turn...

I agree that the public is beginning to see things in a new light. The Faux Network is slowly sinking, but so are the rest of the news networks--we'll see about CNN. However, none of the media are picking up on the stories, at least not without spinning them.

The news media is not looking for facts, they're looking for confrontation, which sells better than the facts. So the real story behind the facade gets swept away. They staged cockfights with right and left on opposite sides of the screen. There's an endless parade of experts who, for fame or fortune, are more than happy to say what they're told to say. The confrontation is what sells, so that's all we get. It's all Hollywood, and no fucking facts.

So, the public is turning. But there's a problem. They aren't turning away from just Bush. They're turning away from the whole business. On the whole they still aren't getting the facts.

And this leads me to the real problem. The way I see it, we've got only a few weeks--maybe a very few weeks. Next week, the judicial fillibuster will be dead. Emboldened by their success and being squeezed by falling popularity, how long will it take the repugs to pull the trigger again and kill the fillibuster outright. They'll do it and we'll all be screwed.

Gawd! I hate conspiracy theories. But I don't see any other way to interpret this. They're going to pull the trigger again, and again, and again. We need to really get moving here. We need to stay on top of things and stay organized. We need to get the word out somehow. We need to put millions of people in the streets and we need to do so as quickly as we can.
