Dobson Fires Back at Salazar (RMN)
He's sounding more like Rush every day:

*Don Imus, of MSNBC, called me "half a nut," "a jerk," "a pinhead" and a private part of human anatomy. Then he said, "I would like to challenge Dr. James Dobson to a fistfight. I will whip his a--."

• Two weeks ago, former Vice President Al Gore said in a speech to MoveOn.org that Family Research Council President Tony Perkins and I were part of an "aggressive new strain" and a "virulent faction" of fundamentalists, which is the wording one would use to describe disease-carrying viruses and bacteria. We note that Gore couldn't think of any particular behavior that associated us with germs, but that didn't keep him from making the connection.

• Last week, the leftist religious organization Interfaith Alliance, got down and dirty. One of its board members, a United Methodist minister named Bill Kirton, referred to me and Focus on the Family as "the Gestapo." When questioned about the severity of the comment, he replied, "I said Gestapo and I meant it." The Rev. Peter Morales, head of the public policy commission for the Interfaith Alliance, said, referring to us, "these are the actions of an American Taliban, or reactionary religious zealots."

• Last Friday, the rhetoric of murder became more specific. Lewis H. Lapham of Harper's Magazine wrote, "Pastor Dobson apparently endorses political candidates who favor the execution of homosexuals and of doctors who provide abortions. I don't think they're joking." Doesn't such a breathtaking allegation as this demand documentation of some sort? Aren't Lapham and the publishers of Harper's Magazine obligated by journalistic ethics to document such a claim?

getting him to pop his little pinhead out of his hidey hole. The more people see him, the more they'll want to swat him.

8. Oh yeah
From the same article Dobson said,

"Extremist" is a favorite pejorative when referring to conservatives, and especially evangelical Christians. It means someone who is dangerous and radically different from all the normal people..."

Many Evangelical Christians are not Christians. They are very dangerous and radically controlling, delusional, emotionally immature creatures that think God only loves them. The only problem is they are WRONG.

They wouldn't be so bad if they would just practice what they preach and leave others alone. If you don't believe in abortion, don't have one, don't like a gay lifestyle, don't be gay. Don't like liberals don't be one, just keep your nose out of other peoples business. If God wanted you to be our savior he'd figure out a way to let us know. Take your "mental illness" back to your church and focus on yourself and your own family.

Back off Dobson, you are a minority and I thank God for that.

9. It's a pretty weak article.
Essentially - "they're calling me names and being mean. Aren't they mean?"

Doesn't even try to refute anything.

Everyone I know is totally sick of FOF.

10. I'm Liking This...Dobson's Been Flushed Out!!
While we piss and moan about Pat Robertson, few remember that he was so popular and "mainstream" that he was considered a serious Presidential candidate in '88. It was similar game to what Dobson played...came off as a friendly, likeable guy on the TV, didn't yell too loudly, but once you got hooked, you got the full fury.

For years, Dobson palmed off his "Focus On Your Family" crap as being mainstream. His commentaries showed up on commercial stations and his DR was always emphasized (just like "Dr." Laura) despite the fact it was a divinity degree...not one in child psychology or any other applied science.

Seems like "Dr." Dobson doesn't like the heat he's getting and the glare of the spotlights. He's not liking the protestors on his clean cut lawn or his name used as a punching bag on The Daily Show. He's impatient to get his payoff from his political toadies since he sees some of them could be in political trouble in the future and he needs to make hay while the he can.

Hopefully, many who thought Dobson was some benign "fatherly" type...like a Robert Schueller or even Billy Graham...are seeing him for the fanatic this charlatan always has been.

Discredit Dobson to his followers and Colorado becomes a beautiful blue color. People in glass houses should not throw stones.

17. Dobson is a cream puff, take him down
Edited on Sat May-21-05 11:11 AM by Jose Diablo
Listen to this, it's from the above article in the RMN, a direct quote from Dobson himself.

"Into this environment of hostile hyperbole several weeks ago came Colorado's U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar. Focus on the Family ran an ad urging the senator to support an up-or-down vote for judicial nominees. That has been the custom from the beginning of the Republic (214 years!) until Democrats began filibustering in 2003.

I don't think this is true. Seems like the Republicans used the filibuster to great effect many many times in the past. What this shows is that Dobson is one of the minions of to "angel of light" as described in his followers main book,

2Cor11:13
"For such false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."

This is Dobsons 'father', he is the father of lies and clearly Dobson is a liar, thus we know from who Dobson comes.

Edit: Burn him down, right in his home territory, the Rocky Mountain News.

18. I believe he LOVES it when people talk about him like this.
It gives him the opportunity to run to the press, cry foul, and get more of that all-important face time he just can't live without. It's press, and good or bad he loves it, because it mentions his name.

Jimmy you're a kook and even you know it.
