i just want to beat my head against the wall because that is what it feels like.. the lady on cspan said America should take the "high road" about stem cells.. so we don't take innocent lives .. let other countries come up with the cures.. then we can use them later.. this is wrong on so many levels.. i cant stand this way of thinking anymore
and its the same who believe bush saying that Newsweek ruined our reputation thru out the world.. not going into war preemptively.. not all the abuses in all of our prisions.. nope a Newsweek article
AAAAUUUGGHHH.. yall i think I'm losing it... please give me hope

2. I think Greenwood won that argument, though. |

That woman's position was baseless and, well, stupid. I think that's pretty obvious to most thinking people. Hmmm... You're right. That leaves out half the country. AAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

....wish to hell I could.
The truth of the matter is: People today don't want to have to be bothered with the 'tedious' act of THINKING FOR THEMSELVES! They would much rather be spoon-fed token responses to serious situations involving society and this nation's obligations, to its own people and to the rest of the world, than have to confront the possibility that they are COMPLICIT in allowing an elite cabal of heartless robber barons to run roughshod over their own people and the people of any other nation of this earth that they feel do not 'understand' their 'perfect' vision of world society.
We are seeing the end of America's 'Golden Age', if you will....if, indeed, this country ever HAD a 'Golden Age'. I believe we are witnessing nothing less than the fall of this 'empire', and a mighty fall it will be. However, what may emerge, in the aftermath of that collapse, may , finally, be a nation of thinking, caring intellectuals who wish to embrace their responsibilities to their own country, and to the world and society at large.
....I hope.

Look in those babies' eyes,...you'll see hope.
Don't let frustration, impatience or despair sink into your heart and mind. Grab hold of the successes of "the people" from the past. Accept that all truly great advances happen over time, not overnight.

5. The United States used to want to be on the forefront of innovation |
|
It was a national value.
Now we want to let other countries do the "dirty work" in such filthy scientific realms as...err...microbiology. Sad fucking times, for sure.

But don't beat your head against the wall. A bloody scalp isn't going to help anything.
Just know that you have a lot of friends around here. That, in the long run, is really all you need.
