How do I go about making a formal complaint to the FCC?
On this past Friday night, I heard Radical Right radio host Mike Gallagher say that he would like to deal with anti-Bush protesters with "some duct tape, a pair of pliers, and a blowtorch".

This must violate some of FCC regulation. I want to file a complaint to the FCC. Although I'm sure it will go nowhere, I still want to go forward with this.

7. Filing a complaint ...

http://www.fcc.gov/

2/3 of the way down on the left there is this link:

http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html

They make a big deal about 'Obscene, Profane & Indecent Broadcasts' whereas threatening hate speech that incites violence is far, far worse.

Filing a complaint:

Postal Mail:
Federal Communications Commission
Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau
Consumer Complaints
445 12th Street, SW
Washington, D.C. 20554

* E-Mail: You can send a complaint to fccinfo@fcc.gov

* Phone: Toll Free: 1-888-CALL-FCC (1-888-225-5322) voice, 1-888-TELL- FCC (1-888-835-5322) TTY. Our Consumer and Mediation Specialists are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET

2. Good idea - why these RW people are always talking about murdering
opponents is a bit strange. They are obviously feeling the heat and feel like they have to be more and more extreme - it may be a good thing - will also have the added bonus of having them thrown in jail at some point too :D

3. Just like one of 'em stated he wanted to kill Michael Moore.
Stated ON AIR that he wondered if he could do it himself or if he'd have to hire someone to do it for him!

I think we sshould file a complaint with the FCC on each one of these instances!

11. We need to put a spotlight on this hate speech and violence.
Besides filing complaints, we need to do something more, like make a public outcry about it, and not just here. I'm not sure what, but something needs to be done about it. It's getting worse and worse. The fact is, there has already been deadly violence committed against protesters, remember Kent State - four dead in Ohio.

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article8742.htm

"By 12:10 PM, four academics lay dead - two protesters and two students merely walking to school. One of the dead, William Schroeder, was at the head of his class as a cadet in the ROTC. One of the nine wounded was left a paraplegic, shot in the back while taking cover on the ground."

http://members.aol.com/nrbooks/newinfo.htm

And violence against protesters continues, just one victim ...

6. You'll get nowhere.
You're complaining to the very same administration that is feeding this murderous vitriol to these radio shows. Unless he used "bad words" to describe how he wants to torture his fellow Americans to death - or explosed a female breast in the process - you'll just be "making pee-pee" in the wind.

9. If there are enough complaints, it could spark some changes.
The key is ENOUGH complaints!

I'm still not sure a radio or TV personality is EVEN NOW permitted to threaten someone's life...live on the airwaves!

8. Republicans are great for advocating torture on others
It makes them feel all manly and not girlie men.. they can torture helpless human beings like a real man.
