When will the fundies finally realize... |
|
that the GOP is not the party of God, and if they were a party of anything they'd be the party of Lucifer. I don't understand how they can't see that...
The GOP's economic policies hurt the poor...a group that Jesus defended.
The GOP's war-like attributes have led to the deaths of well over 100,000 in the middle east...isn't one of the 10 commandments "Thou shall not Kill?" I guess they only think this applies to unborn fetuses.
The GOP breeds intolerance, racism, and bigotry...didn't we learn in the Bible that Jesus was open and accepting to all people.
There are other inconsistencies with the GOP and Jesus's teachings that I might not have listed. The fundies need to wake up and realize what this party they sold themselves out to is doing.

2. the problem with that as I see it is many "Right Wing Christians" take |
|
their cue from the Old Testaments and dismiss Jesus' teachings. How else to explain the "eye for an eye" rhetoric and the Leviticus hate speech?

They don't use much of the New Testament I've noticed unless it's like First Coritnhians or something and that's letters from Paul to the Corithian church and not even Jesus! Jesus is the gospel books: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Everything else is either the old Testament where they're Jews or the New Testament where they're writing letters and establishing churches to continue Christ's work.

5. Kick! If they actually read the New Testiment maybe we wouldn't be in |
|
in this mess. However on behalf of black christians the churchs I've been to are all about the New Testiment. Better singing too.
They're coming around though, I know plenty of evangelical repubs that are finally calling BS on the repubs. Sure there are some that will never feel the warm hand of truth on their shoulder but then again, some never see the light.
They'll be so upset when the realize that they have aligned with the anti-christ.

That's how my church is. In our Sunday morning service my preacher does the New Testament. All the way from Matthew to Revelation. We're doing Revelation now and it's quite an interesting book. He's mainly focusing his lesson on this book around how it's an inspiration book to help you stay hopeful for your life and to know when you die it's not the end etc. Very very rarely he'll refer back to the Old Testament. Sunday school classes are of course a little different. The teacher can do whatever he wishes with the class (the college class is now doing Proverbs which is a great book!).

6. Manipulation and mind control |

Plus the politicians have this fake "pro-life" ordeal and say they're "pro-marriage" when in reality they have the most divorce percentage then anybody. Of course the fundies really believe they give a damn about them when they don't except for votes.

12. Realize only when they are burning in the lake of fire for eternity. |
|
then and only then. for they are insane and have sold themselves to the false prophet who comes to usher in the age of the beast.
anything short of that just encourages them. they are an implacable foe, no rest, no remorse, no mercy, no justice. they are pawns of evil incarnate. any more questions?

Why the GOP is so heavily playing the religion card right now. I mean, look at Terri Schiavo, look at Iraq, look at (quack) Dr. Frist. It really does scare me that a party has so closely aligned itself with a religion.

14. It has happened because the Repukes have aligned with the right |
|
due to abortion.
So, anybody who supports abortion is evil.
That was the base of the Repukes' affiliation with the religious.
After that, they managed to pull a "Wormtongue" - whispering in the sympathetic ears that the "liberals" were the ones lying. With the initial assumption of the "evil abortionists", it took some fine-tuning of their whisperings to convince the "faith-based" to agree.
After all these years, the Repukes were able to manipulate those who were easily convinced - to the point that they now believe that they are being attacked - much in the same way that a person will go out of his or her way to be "offended" by the porn shops. If you know a section of town is bad, you don't go there - unless you're looking for trouble.
The Repukes have convinced the religious right that we're trying to keep them from praying in school. Whereas we're actually allowing all to pray in school - not to allow others to force you to pray a certain way with the "school's blessing".
As George Carlin said it (may not be an exact quote): "If I can convince you that there's an invisible fairy on your shoulder" (God) "telling you what to do, then I can convince you of anything."

15. Of course! That's it. |

It always comes back to abortion. Or the evil, godless homosexuals.
But what I think is pissing me off is that the media has idiots like Jerry Falwell on every night telling us how things like drugs and homosexuality is bad, but whatever weird version of Christianity they preach is good.
I mean, what "culture of life" supports banning abortion and homosexuals because they dont contribute it, yet they're perfectly OK starting a war.
