I was thinking back to the days of Jesus and his followers. Rome was in power, there was no internet, no MSM, it was all underground. So how did the message get out? How does the message get out now for churches?
Witnessing. Missionary work. Door to door, person to person. Venturing out of the church (du/internet/et al) and into the wilds to talk one on one with people about issues.
Pamphlets, books, and so on.
Not - to me if you will - attacking bush and the repugs. It is about issues, ideals, direction, beliefs. bush is one pea in the pod. Both repugs and dems have blame and blood on their hands, attacking one over the other gets people defensive and blinds them to the issues. The right thought clinton was hitler and was going to stay in power, the left thinks the same of bush. Through it all - focusing on a few select people - what has gotten lost is day to day legislation and slipping away of rights.
Preach the message, and the people will see the light (no matter the candidate). People come and go in office, the laws seem to stay and grow as does the injustice to our people and others.
This is not the white man against the indian, the black man against the korean, women against men - this is power hungry freaks against the people of this country, the names change but the ideals stick around in varied forms.
Preach it - peace, love, common sense, freedom of religion, civil rights, and so on (and add as much as you can here on the message itself we should be getting across).
