Anybody see Tim Robbins on Hardball? Chris Matthews just showed
Edited on Wed May-25-05 11:08 PM by Blue_Roses
just how much of an idiot he really is. To paraphrase: Chris was talking about the reason we went to war and Robbins said we should be talking more about the Downing St. memo and not so much about Newsweek. Matthews said tell me about that. He was clueless it appeared, because Chris was actually quiet and listened instead of interrupting like he always does--not that he actually heard it.

Tweety just baffles me:crazy: I seriously think Tweety needs Ritalin. He switches and twitches with each guest. Does he just read a cue card or does he actually try to research his blabber. Who knows, but he is just too damn inconsistent to be considered newsworthy.

1. Oh, you're not serious.
I don't watch that TV, but Chris Matthews didn't know about the Downing St. Memo?

4. I don't know what happened to Tweety.
I used to read his columns in the San Francisco Chronicle before he got a show. His columns always were liberal in thought and made sense. His show persona.....is not the same guy who wrote the columns. Could the TV Tweety be an imposter? Or, did he hire a ghost writer to write his column back then?

7. Interesting idea - maybe he DID hire a ghostwriter.
But then, some people simply cannot think quickly, but only can write. Could be either one, but either way I am at a loss to understand why they pay him to be in front of a camera. He isn't charismatic or convincing, so he's not even as a good spokesperson for the GOP as someone else might be.

It is not to be understood.

9. Cocaine and guilt, would be my guess
He reminds me of Morton Downey. He may want to be a serious journalist and even make a difference, but he's sold out to get rich. They tell him to be argumentive and snappy, so he is. He goes home, does some type of drug to convince himself he doesn't care, and comes back as a caricature of what they told him to be.

Just a guess.

10. Can't be cocaine 'cause
then he would be calm with his ADD self. No it's not cocaine, but I'm sure his drug has a green tint and resembles some old guys on it.

11. He was an active alcoholic and quit a few years back
I heard an interview with him and his wife where he discussed a past drinking problem. He's a child really. I hate his "aw shucks I'm so naughty" routine. I stopped watching the hack over a year ago. Have never regretted tuning him out.

15. he's still drinking
Edited on Wed May-25-05 11:53 PM by Blue_Roses
he was on Bill Maher's show a while back and he made a comment about having a drink ...

I don't really care, 'cause who doesn't need a drink with this lousy administraion. What bothers me is how uninformed and inaccurate he is--not to mention a blatent rwing suck-up.

5. Tweety was the first person that EVER made me throw
my remote at the tv. He would be great one moment, and then in the next; pick a stray repub thought out of the blue sky in his big head and throw it at you!... right in the gut.

Ughh. I remember those days, until air america came around. Thank God.

6. Tweety has a show
so that Tweety can show off

He's a talking head so that he can talk his head off

One thing that he _isn't_ is an even half-way decent interviewer.

All that aside, I thought he treated Tim Robbins better than most of his guests and complimented him highly at the end about what a great actor he is. I, too, was impressed when he quietly said "tell me about that" re the Downing memo

8. That house in Nantucket near Russert and Jack Welch cost
him his credibility. He must really love "running with the rich and famous" more than he loves his own country. :-(

13. He has been amazingly ill-informed lately.
I think he wouldn't sound so ignorant if he'd just read the morning papers.

He's slipped so much I have to wonder if he's started drinking again or if he is ill.

14. On second thought . . .
Maybe he's writing a new book or something, and is taking shortcuts to get his news.

Like maybe he's getting it from the Drudge Report.

He's about that well informed!
