Debate continues putting off a vote, Cloture is ending debate and voting on bolton, Frist voted against cloture because under the rules he can move to reconsider.

15. To move to reconsider...
One must have been in the original prevailing majority.

On procedural votes, always have someone on your side vote against your side for votes that could effectively end the debate.

2. Sounds like First may not have the votes to shove him though...
so, delay closing the debate until he does, or some real shit is going to hit the fan on Bolton and he does not want to put a vote forward.

6. I think it was something
precedural. Voinovich switched to yeah and then he voted nay. It was a trade so he could bring it back to the floor at a later time.

7. Frist may now move to reconsider the vote.
He sees that the vote is lost, so he votes for the winners--and then as one of the winners he can move to reconsider the vote.

Is this making any sense at all? I know I'm right, but it isn't coming out too clearly.

12. You are absolutely correct
To bring a motion to reconsider you must have voted with the side that prevailed on the original vote. Since you won that vote, you can then ask for the vote to be reconsidered (a do-over) and reopen the debate to call for a new vote.

I wouldn't want to be at his Memorial Day picnic.

14. Is that a Roberts Rules of Order thing?
Cause I think its a common parlimentary tactic.

11. You can keep updated at his site.
http://www.larryflynt.com

This is his non-pornographic site that is mostly about politics that doesn't even have ads for Hustler or anything, so you don't have to worry about what show up on your screen if you clicked on it at work or anything.
