Chimp's approval up slightly, why?
Ipsos-Reid/Cook Political Report Poll. Sept. 16-18, 2003. N=761 registered voters nationwide. MoE ± 3.6.
"Overall, do you approve, disapprove or have mixed feelings about the way George W. Bush is handling his job as president?" If "mixed feelings" or not sure: "If you had to choose, do you lean more toward approve or disapprove?"

9/16--18/03 55 43 2
9/2---4/03 52 45 2 1
8/19--21/03 56 40 3 1
8/5---8/03 58 38 3
----------------------------------------------------------

Ipsos-Reid/Cook Political Report Poll. Sept. 16-18, 2003. N=761 registered voters nationwide. MoE ± 3.6.

"If the election were held today, would you definitely vote to reelect George W. Bush as president, consider voting for someone else, or definitely vote for someone else as president?"

1. To prevent civil disobedience ?
Who knows? Certainly not because of anything positive that he has done.

3. Yes
and keep in mind his disapproval rating is still 43 percent, which is not good, and his reelect is just 41 percent. That's pretty bad. Before you get too down, spotbird, see how this poll fits into the larger picture:

4. Re-elect numbers are 41% !
And those are the numbers that will sink Bush. ANd I suspect they will remain close to that up to election day. It spells disasteer for the Repubs.

6. Over on a free-for all forum...
Some of the fence sitters were less than impressed with the Faux Debates. Of course they didn't think too much about how ridiculous the favorite song question was.:eyes:

Others also watched Triumph of the Wi...errr, that 9/11 movie on Showtime, and didn't realize it was blatant propaganda.

Just a possibility.

7. Spotbird, I also just looked again at polling report
Ipsos-Reid does two polls a month, so if you put them together, here's the trend since June: 59.5 percent approval in June, 57 percent in July, 57 percent in August (Bush's vacation), 53.5 percent in September. See the drop?
