I just have to ask...
How did the Secret Service ferret out something that was written in, of all things, one high school yearbook?

Yearbook Prank Rankles Colorado School

High school yearbooks were recalled so that administrators could black out a joke caption under one student's picture: "most likely to assassinate President Bush."

Mesa Ridge High School officials recalled about 100 yearbooks earlier this month and had staffers use markers to obscure the words in them and in the still-undistributed copies. The Secret Service even launched an investigation.

Wasn't the Columbine shooting in Colorado? I would hope that the Federal Secret Service and FBI and The American Psychiatric Association to find out what the fuck is wrong with the people in that state.

Study of killings at standstill
Parents of killers decide not to take part in prof's effort

By Kevin Vaughan, Rocky Mountain News
April 20, 2005

A long-anticipated study of the factors that contributed to the Columbine High tragedy is on hold - and most likely won't be resurrected - because the parents of the two killers won't participate.

Del Elliott, a sociology professor at the University of Colorado and director of the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence, said Tuesday that without the cooperation of Wayne and Kathy Harris and Tom and Sue Klebold he didn't think the study could obtain a complete picture of all the dynamics involved.

7. Kids are more violent today. That's a fact.
On the other hand, kids putting outrageous things in the yearbook about their classmates, frequently without advance notice to the soon to be victimized classmate, is nothing new.

8. An old style prank with a new twist that isn't funny.....
...or very bright and should be tracked down and investigated. As for the secret services involvement, the article says the High School officials discovered the prank, they called back the yearbooks and also called in the federal law enforcement officials to investigate. I think the high school officials made the right call.

i agree. if someone writes that in a yearbook i think it's ok. to have it produced and printed that way was bold and maybe just a little dumb givin' the state of the union {police} we now survive within... :dilemma:

4. It was on CNN a few minutes ago.
Stories about yearbooks. First story about a black honor student in Waxahatchie being accidentally being identified in a group picture as "black girl" followed by a story about a student who the yearbook captioned as "most likely to assassinate Bush". How did the Secret Service find this?

2. why would you even have to ask?a nazified country turns into a country of
snitches almost instantaneously--friends, family, people whom you would least think of...they become snitches in a nazified country...and sadly, we have become the latest nazified country in history and in a country we all said, it could never happen here! but, guess what? it has happened here. bush has thrown our love for american apple pie back in our faces. he has smeared our constitution, our freedom of speech, our civil liberties, our democracy with his feces...and there are those who say, "brava! we never liked apple pie. the constitution never did a thing for me. freedom of speech? who cares! the smell of feces? no! not at all! that is sweet perfume to our noses that we smell!" maybe when the well runs dry, and each dollar disappears ... maybe then, the snitches might grovel and say, we were wrong but i wouldn't count on them doing so until then.

5. I was thinking that it sounded more like the old soviet system.
Ironic that the neos who like to hunt commies would actually turn out to possess the KGB spirit.

10. you are right and i stand corrected...
it is also ironic that the many Cubans living in MIAMI under AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP fled the FIDEL CASTRO'S COMITé DE BARRIOS which was the Cuban version of the Russian KGB--yet here they seem not to be bothered by all the snitching and surveillance and suppression and repression of FREEDOMS that Bush is inflicting on the American people.
