New Fox meme: Raise retirement age to "save" Social Security
retroactively: Please oh please oh please let the Cons run on this in 2006!

If they do, we'll be back to LBJ era majorities in 2007.

1. Have you noticed that those calling for raising the retirement age...
...and cutting benefits...

...are rich enough that they don't NEED social security when they retire?

2. I did notice that
Todays panel included Jack Welch (GE) and Ben Stein.

The reality for many lower-middle class Americans, who do physical labor, is that their bodies break down long before 65. Ever seen a 65 year old construction worker?

But hey, they should have all gone to Harvard and been born to a rich family like they did, right?

3. Or are working "jobs" that don't require more
stamina than what it takes to wield a blow dryer or watch a screen?

My gawd, what I want is for ageism to get these pampered SOBs so that they have to take that job in a fast food place or working construction in their 50s when their bodies hurt with every movement.

Only the young, rich and pampered can possibly think that our bodies don't wear out by the time we're in our early 60s, and that most people barely hang on until they're 65, as osteoarthritis erodes their joints and chronic illness involving heart, lungs, or endocrine system saps their strength.

These people are pure scum.

4. Great idea! Of course, since there are no jobs for them and corporations
routinely fire older workers, they'll probably starve to death waiting for their benefits.

Problem solved.

5. I predict a Puke sweep in 2008
Those Pukes know how to rig a god damn election -
BBV and their new and improved bag of tricks
will rule the day.
Seems to me Pukes are taking less and less care
in hiding their evil ambitions.
2006 will tell all. As 2006 falls so
falls 2008.

6. Corporate America does not want to hire people over 50 . . .
. . . looking for a job and being 50 or older, you might as well be 65 or 70, corporate American is not hiring.

Corporate America has reduced the retirement age to 50.

The "unspoken" retirement age in corporate America is 50.

7. message to workers from the president:
Steal whatever you can grab before you get shitcanned and your pension gets nuked. Backstab everyone and don't count on any promised benefits from anywhere.

That's the Harvard MBA way!
