3. Look Well And Learn The Value Of War When It Is Brought Right |
|
In Front Of You.... As long as they don't have to look it in the face or feel the pain of loss, what the hell do they care. I am personally involved in this war now and I will not let up until every American understands the TREMENDOUS LOSS of lives and limbs.

4. Being the grandson of a career military man |
|
being the son of a career military man, and spending 24 years in the military myself it has been my observation that nobody gives a shit about what the wounded has to go through. And anybody that doesn't give a shit about soldiers dying because they might have voted for someone they don't like is the last person that should even bring this up. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=1500364

My father was a wounded vet.
While my statement was harsh..I'd much rather see an apparatchik doe for their beliefs than the people who KNEW better and were silenced in the military..having spent a great deal of time around Camp Pendleton, I can tell you people are SILENCED for feeling differently.

no matter who they voted for, they will go fight under the orders of whomever is in the office of president. I have done it, million upon millions before me have and millions will after I'm gone. God help this country if the military starts to pick and choose what battles they will fight on their likes and dislikes on who is president. Just try to remember that Govt's start wars not the military. I will admit that the military was not crazy about Clinton, but they went everywhere he sent them.

7. Anti-war, not Anti-Warrior |

Nothing in the OP is against the military and your attacks on the author are just attempts to start flame wars and try to make DU look bad.
Go find some way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend other than inflaming a poster. Go to a parade, visit the military cemeteries, attend memorials.
This war is illegal and immoral and you know it. If you love our nation then stand up against this administration and don't waste your efforts trying to make the author of the OP and DU look bad.
If you did in fact serve, thank you for your service. :patriot:
We love this nation too, you don't have a monopoly on that! :hi:

11. Anti-freeper, anti-admin, anti-war |
|
So do you just want to start a flame fest? Go visit the vets in the hospital, do something constructive.
It's a slam on the admin for not caring about the vets. Comprehension is a remarkable attribute. Some say it can be learned. :hi:

I agree with that. No reason to be calling everyone in the military Freepers. My Grandfather, 22 years in the Army always voted Dem. My father 20 years in the Navy always voted Dem (along with mom) Me four years in the Army and twenty in the Air Force always voted Dem except I didn't vote at all during Carters re-election. I felt he caused to much damage to the military. I have one son in the Navy and one son in the Army and they both voted for Kerry. But if they get wounded they are automatically freepers because Bush is Prez.

15. She is certainly NOT calling everyone in the military Freepers |
|
She is suggesting the Freepers get off their yellow-ribbon-waving asses and sign up to FIGHT Bush's oil war that they love so much, and in doing so maybe they'll learn how SHABBILY Bush treats his vets when they're not lined up behind him for a photo-op.

16. The op is not calling everyone in the military freepers |
|
It is saying to the freepers they should put their lives where their mouthes are and serve in the military, fight the war they support. Feel free to sign up to be heros in the weed's illegal war.
Again try to comprehend the message. It will help you in the future and will save you all sorts of frustrations. :hi:

9. Yeah..so..who the hell said otherwise? Ever see those police chases |
|
on TV that end with the perp dying of suicide by cop? My feelings are that active military that voted for George Bush after seeing how FUBAR his plans were committed suicide by ballot box.
Oh..and for the record..the time I spend at Pendleton is raising money for FAMILIES of the wounded to be able to see their son/daughter/mother/father in the hospital...some of us DO care about wounded vets.

the article didn't say if the Corporal there voted for * or not.
Even then, if he had voted *, should we be so callous? I'll freely point out how erroneous people who voted for * are when it turns out * is working against THEM, but the guy is still military... (on edit: meaning I will not willfully spit on the guy because he chose for a guy whom he thought was genuine and turned out to be perfidious...)
