Christian Coalition: "Fair up-or-down vote", looking ahead to Supreme Ct.
"I believe that the events that happened this week in the Senate represent a mid-way point in the ongoing battle over judicial nominations. I fully expect this subject to be revisited with the first vacancy on the Supreme Court. (Note: Oh, so do we!) The Christian Coalition firmly believes that each and every nominee who is selected by the President of the United States deserves an up or down vote (Brawwwwwk! Up-or-down-vote! Up-or-down-vote! Brawwwwk!) by the full Senate. We encourage both political parties to work towards re-establishing this practice in the future and not allow the filibuster to be used to obstruct the Senate from completing its constitutional "advise and consent" duties. No judicial nominee should be left behind".

1. They want "activist" judges
for THEIR cause who will promote a Christian Fundamentalist THEOCRACY.

2. We firmly believe (exceptions)
The Christian Coalition firmly believes that each and every nominee who is selected by the President of the United States deserves an up or down vote:

EXCEPT:

The next time a Democrat is in the White HOuse.

If a GOP comittee can pocket filibuster them, and we can blame Newsweek for reporting it.

If the nominee isn't one of Our Chosen Judges.

If we simply feel like changing our minds on this.

When hypocrisy strikes. You know, hourly.

(I'm sure there are more)

3. Fine, then have Bush submit Clinton's nominees
That the Republicans blocked. Don't they deserve and up-or-down vote as well?

5. YES! And bring back Tom Daschle and other Clinton-era Senators
to vote on them, denying cloture and confirmation votes to those who were not Senators under Clinton.
