If this guy is deep throat - why would they still wait until he dies to release all kinds of details? They can say anything they want after he is dead and he can't defend himself. If this guy really wants this out before he dies - you'd think they'd go along with it.

Either he is not really deep throat, or
they want the bang for themselves, or
this caught them by surprise and they want to talk with him personally before they release info.
