1. Confirmations.
There has been confirmations from:

Bob Woodward.
Carl Berstein.
Ben Bradley.

Now, it's true that Bob Woodward is a Republican. But both Berstein and Bradley are Democrats. Christ, Bradley was a personal friend of JFK. It's inconceivable that this is anything but the truth.

So let's all take off our tin-foil hats and put this cuckoo "Bush Sr is Deep Throat" crap to rest.

10. While I am hesitant to ever say anything is 100%
After looking at everything that's come out today, I have to say I think this is likely the truth. On the other hand, it's so *delicious* to think that 41 screwed Nixon over that I think this is a theory that will not die anytime soon. I do wish there were physical proof of some kind to lay this to rest, rather than a "We all say so."

Watergate was a full 30 years ago. That's close to a generation. Some memories still seem fresh, but much of that world is long gone.

9. Interesting idea, but Bush ties to the intelligence community are tight
Edited on Tue May-31-05 06:45 PM by ReadTomPaine
I see moves coming from inside the FBI before the CIA at this point. Goss is a hardcore Bush loyalist, and while he's got a lid on the CIA I don't see them doing much about the current situation, no matter how the rank and file feel about it. What scenario do you see?

14. What scenario ?
I could someone that is longterm old hand CIA or FBI or some agency doing what needs to be done to save the country. Maybe this will give them the courage to bring the information forward.

12. I can go along with this theory, but would modify it just a tad
It won't be a current CIA insider. It will be one of the 'banished' who still has ties inside.

13. I could see a former CIA whistle-blower come forward...
but I don't see them taking down the Administration. They are too entrenched. It's going to take actual, active law enforcement in some appropriately empowered form.

15. The 'insider' just needs to get things started
That's all Deep Throat did, really.

"Follow the money."
