Why is DU not linked to this important site?
Why are we not listed here?

Big Brass Alliance
The Big Brass Alliance was formed in May 2005 as a collective of progressive bloggers who support After Downing Street, a coalition of veterans' groups, peace groups, and political activist groups formed to urge that the U.S. Congress launch a formal investigation into whether President Bush has committed impeachable offenses in connection with the Iraq war. The campaign focuses on evidence that recently emerged in a British memo containing minutes of a secret July 2002 meeting with British Prime Minister Tony Blair and his top national security officials.

3. We are a web forum not a blog.

DU is community rather than individual based. Plus, DU offers much more than a blog. We have LBN,a huge variety of discussion forums aa well as special articles and guest writers.

4. Aren't we Prissy.
That doesn't stop, nor does it preclude other 'forums' from being linked.

to the Big Brass Alliance and sites linked there had a big spike or viewers last night, including forums.

The Downing Street Memo, continues to gurgle under the surface. The latest is that some people are taking the story where the media doesn't seem to want to go (again). AfterDowningStreet.org is about moving past the actual memo and asking what the repercussions should be. This is accompanied by a blogger collective calling itself the Big Brass Alliance. It's very hard to tell how many people care about this story, but today at least, it looks like the calls for investigation and even impeachment are growing.

6. I did not mean to be "prissy."

I never said that you should link DU to the site mentioned. I was simply stating that DU is a web forum and not a blog.

We have had this discussion many times here on DU. There is an ongoing effort to define ourselves properly. For instance, for a long time CSPAN listed Free Republic and not Democratic Underground on their website links page.
http://www.c-span.org/resources/blogs.asp

For quite a while, Free Republic was listed as a blog on the main CSPAN page: http://www.c-span.org/

Now we are listed under "individual/group blogs" after many e-mails to CSPAN asking to be included. It was CSPAN that decided on the category name. I mentioned to them in my own e-mail that we are an online forum.

edit: Items 1 and 2 from the DU rules:

1. Who We Are: Democratic Underground is an online community for Democrats and other progressives. Members are expected to be generally supportive of progressive ideals, and to support Democratic candidates for political office. Democratic Underground is not affiliated with the Democratic Party, and comments posted here are not representative of the Democratic Party or its candidates.
2. Civility: Treat other members with respect. Do not post personal attacks against other members of this discussion forum.
