G.W. Bush = the renter in "Pacific Heights."
George Bush doesn't own the White House. "We The People..." own the White House. George Bush is a temporary occupant of OUR property.

The movie "Pacific Heights" is a perfect analogy of the Bush administration. In the film, a couple rents out a room in their home to ... well, the kindest description is, your worst nightmare.

The eviction process in the case of George W. Bush is called impeachment. But it seems that, even decent Republicans in congress have been infected with some sort of myopic disease. Many of them really do believe in freedom, but seem to have become just another bunch of bit players in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

How do we reclaim our property? Beats me.

1. Never thought about that analogy, but it works.
"Single White Female" could apply as well, in the sense that your friends and neighbors can tell something's very wrong with this picture while you (in this case 50.8% of the voters) remain in denial.

2. Burn it down and build a new one?
No that's too drastic. We need to enforce the laws that are there to get rid of him. Our Congressional Representatives and Senators, who should be enforcing those laws, are dragging their feet. Time to light the fire under them!

5. He doesn't own all of them.
Those are the ones that need to be pushed. If they can push De Lay out, there's hope. He is one of the biggest clogs. One thing we have to realize is that even the ones that owned by Karl Rove are as afraid of us as they are of him. If large segments of the constituents of these congress people yells at them with one voice, they will sit up and take notice. The ball is in our court my friend.

3. Great analogy: I'm Matthew Modine.
No, not Melanie Griffith. Though, considering what happens to her in that movie, that's one more reason why this metaphor works so well. Still, I wanna be Matthew Modine when we effect our eviction strategy.

6. terrific analogy! He trashed the place he rented in Alabama
Maybe not as badly as Keaton's character did in the film, but still.

"After the election, Mr. Bush returned to Houston, moving out of his small rented bungalow in Montgomery. He left the place a mess, with a broken light fixture and piles of debris, according to Mary Smith, whose husband was the bungalow's caretaker. Ms. Smith said her husband, who has since died, sent Mr. Bush a bill for professional cleaning but never heard back."
