The Republican Party stands for Destruction;the Democratic Party, |
|
for Construction.
Obviously the patient work needed to construct something take a long time and discipline.Destruction, OTOH, is easy and quick.
Take for example everything that has happened since the 1964 Civil Rights Act.The Democrats made it unfashionable to be intolerant and hateful. The country reaped the benefits of that for nearly two decades whenRonald Reagan and his smiling bigots resurrected hatred and made it acceptable. That has now reached full flowering the Bush Eras.
In our economy, the patient work needed to empower people and reward risk takers with incentives was replaced by enormous tax cuts for the wealthy across the board as though every wealthy person is deserving or a risk taker. That attitude, once again the handiwork of the smiling bigotry of Reagan, has been a non stop disaster.
And don't even get me started on wars.

...about the Democratic Party, well...
Sometimes I think they're just the "good" half of a "good cop/bad cop" routine between the two major parties. When the bad cop riles up the people enough, the good cop steps in to provide just enough of a concession from the corporate elite to quiet things down and make as little change as can be got away with.
But, in the end, the few people on top stay right where they are--if anything, more secure than ever.
