There's no dynamite rigged to this question.
What's your favorite position that the Democratic Party holds?

I'm just curious.

7. Well, they used to be
but they've let the DLC drag them so far to the right that they've been colluding with the pubbies on "free" trade, piratization, deregulation, lowering all protective tariffs and promoting offshoring.

If they want any workers to vote for them, that's got to change.

12. Wikipedia's entry isn't bad, either.

Some folks who've read my posts over the years will recognize the following:
Rawls falls squarely into the deontological (duty-based) school of ethics, in the tradition of Kant, as opposed to the consequentialist school exemplified by the utilitarians.
As I've noted many times, I subscribe to the deontological school, and eschew consequentialism (teleological). I regard Kant's Categorical Imperative as emblematic of my own moral compass. Obviously, so did Paul Wellstone. I consider myself in good company.

5. Most of the party's stances
on social issues. They are the reason I am now, have always been and will forever be a Democrat. When John Kerry spoke about health care for ALL, he was speaking to my heart.

Does that answer your question, Joe? :eyes:

9. a quote from Harry Truman that I tend to over use;
when asked what the difference between dems and republicans he said " Democrats are people who like to help people when they need a little help. Republicans are people who like to help people who don't need anymore damn help" give em hell Harry!
