Southern California protest against Karl Rove this Saturday!
A long time "favorite" of Democrats, Karl Rove, is speaking at the Reagan Library on Saturday, June 11th. We want to show him how much we "love" him and this administration, and give him a Big Blue State welcome. It's always possible that his California puppet, Ahhnuld, might be there too. So it could be a two for one protest.

At 10:00am, bring your own signs (we might have some extras) and join us at the corner of Madera Ave & Presidential Drive in Simi Valley. For parking, turn on Presidential Drive and then make an immediate right on Roosevelt court. Plenty of street parking available.

1. Give him Hell for me, Iwin
As an former 25-year resident of Simi Valley, it would be a pleasure to see Rove roasted where I grew up. I only wish I could be there to see it in person.

Please take a few pics for us! :D:thumbsup:

2. The press will be there...
It's going to be tons o' fun! We'll take pictures to post.

As a former Simi Valley resident, you know what kind Red County hell it is out here. And all the little Freepers that bought into that development at the bottom of the hill of the library, so they could be close to their idol...we look forward to parking our cars with all our anti-winger bumper stickers on their streets.

6. Simi Valley: A nice place to be from
Simi isn't a city as much as a place to sleep - the quintessential, culture-deprived, antiseptic bedroom community. A wasteland of sameness. Republican Nirvana. It was the ideal place to plant Saint Ronnie.

OTOH, Asheville is a real city. Folks live here, work here, and play here. It also has an inordinate amount of freaks all over downtown walking dogs, doing drum circles, dancing. If any of them showed up in Simi the residents would be locking their doors and calling the cops.

I'm so glad to be anywhere else.

8. how funny, my *brother* lives there (Semi Valley)
..and he is the epitomy of the hypocricy of the republican party (or everything that is evil within the republican party--your choice).

Anyway, Give KKKarl hell, he snuck into Portland the other day so as to avoid the inevitable protests.

3. Funny that Rove seems to be so much more public....
I'm sure California hasn't forgotten about his orchestrated stolen election or his smug, pseudo fascist hand gestures either....

9. We'll be careful...
As we hang the huge freeway blogging signs above the 118 & 23 freeways (the only ways into the place), so he can anticipate the party waiting for him at the Library!

As long as we don't block traffic or cause any problems at the Library entrance, the street corner and sidewalks are public property and we have every right to be there.

10. My sis lives in Wood Ranch
...at the foot of their god.

Just because you have every right to be on public property and the Constitution guarantees your right to peaceably assemble doesn't mean the fascisti sees it that way. Take care of yourselves and make very sure to have plenty of video cameras on hand. Also, be on guard for provocateurs. If somebody starts acting crazy, get as far away from that person as you can. He's probably a plant.

Sound paranoid enough for ya? Sorry, but I remember Lemon Drive very well (you old Simi-ites know what I'm talking about).

11. We're picking up momentum...
More and more groups are signing on to join the protest. Turns out that KKKarl is one very "popular" guy here in SoCal.

Come on out and join the fun on Saturday morning!
