Boy, 3, found dead in day care center van. |
|
http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/06/07/van.death.ap/index.htmlAnother overworked, tired, lowest rung on the ladder worker screws up and a child dies. If he didn't have to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet, this would probably not have happened.

Thinking about that poor kid.... But also makes me wonder why no one called for five hours after he was supposed to be dropped off?!

5. I was just going to say the same thing. |

<snip>Hastings said he had no explanation for why there was about a five-hour gap between the time the boy was to have been dropped off and police being called.
That's real concerned parents/guardians for ya!

6. This same thing--daycare worker--happened in Dallas last year |
|
Unspeakable tragedy. After the one in Dallas, I would have thought it would be mandatory for daycares across the country be required to have someone double check the vans after they return. Senseless...senseless...senseless

7. My wife's an assistant director at a daycare center... |

...and the parents are responsible for picking up their own children. She would have gone mad if anything like this had happened to a child in her care...totally, irreversibly mad.

8. That just rips my heart apart, |
|
I've read that it is one of the most awful ways to die, they get tremendous headaches during the overheating period before death. I remember reading about one incident where a child ripped her hair out by the roots because of the pain.
That poor baby. I don't know what the answer is, people are overworked and stressed to the max. When I hear of parents forgetting their child is even in the car or cases like this, I wonder what our country has become. Business and corporations don't care, just get to work early, stay late, do your job and work another job if you don't make enough.
