... you see, I believe that Congress in particular and Americans in general went along with this whole charade Bush** was putting on, knowing full well we were going to war no matter what. How could anyone not know, it was freaking obvious.

Americans didn't care. They wanted revenge, and Iraq seemed as good a place as any.

There is however, one fly in the ointment. That "going along" was based on something everyone assumed, that being "success".

Americans really thought we'd waltz in there, clean up the mess and leave behind a glowing Democracy.

Now that the effort is turning sour there are a lot of people, folks who were happy to overlook the mendacity that got us there, who are ready to point the fickle finger of blame.

There's really only one person to point that finger at, and before this is all over he's going to realize that his crowning achievement is really his waterloo.
