Surprise! Christian Coalition commends confirmation of Janice Rogers Brown
P.S. Did you know she is the daughter of a sharecropper? :sarcasm: AND the descendant of slaves! What a novel distinction for an African-American. This constant sharecropper story is wearing a little thin with me, I fully expect them to play "Dem Old Cotton Fields Back Home" at her swearing-in.

WASHINGTON, June 8 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Christian Coalition of America commends the 56 Senators for confirming California Supreme Court Justice Janice Rogers Brown nominated by President George W. Bush in July 2003. Justice Brown, who was confirmed this evening by a margin of 56 to 43, will assume a seat this month on the United States Circuit Court of Appeals, District of Columbia. The only Democrat Senator who voted for Justice Brown was Senator Ben Nelson, from Nebraska.

Democrats continued their filibuster of Justice Brown for nearly 2 years, following a 4-year filibuster of Justice Priscilla Owen, who was sworn in as a Justice on the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit. Janice Rogers Brown is a superb judicial nominee and received a qualified rating by even the liberal American Bar Association. She is a descendent of slaves and the daughter of sharecroppers from Alabama.

Roberta Combs, President of the Christian Coalition of America said, "It is wonderful that a sharecroppers' daughter has reached one of the highest pinnacles of achievement in the federal court system. President Bush is to be commended for reaching out to minorities and trying to be inclusive. Left-wing Democrats should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for putting obstacles in the way of successful blacks and Hispanics and for voting against this American success story."

1. A constant test of one's resistance to nausea
I am rapidly reaching the threshold. It would be OK if they would say the insane daughter of a sharecropper who forgot everything her parents taught her, IMO.

While listening to NPR one day driving home from work, it was reported that, yes her father was a sharecropper, at first, but he
did enlist in the USAF later.
