OH WAIT. They already FUCKING DID THAT.

or you'll see republican leaders give speeches at conferences that are based around the idea that democrats are anti-christians...

OH WAIT. They already FUCKING DID THAT.

But Dean is creating a divide by pointing out a fact?

BULLSHIT

2. We're not in a contest to see who divides more or less.
You understand that, right?

7. In a way, it does.
As in when it's used to distract from the real point of contention.

12. Some would argue that
the ongoing R hypocrisy IS a point of contention. They would also probably suggest that this type of R behavior demonstrates a lack of anything substantive on which to challenge the D's.

Personally, I'm of the opinion that allowing ANY bullshit to go unchallenged is a de facto concession of the point.

9. I was just pointing out that republicans are hypocrits
and they've been playing the christian oppressed victim game for ages without being called on it.

13. Does it matter that Dean was being factually accurate and not disparaging?
Of course it matters. That makes ALL the difference, doesn't it?

24. Yes, I think it does
Unless you (or I) are SOOOOOOO much smarter than the mythical Average American®, what matters to us might just matter - maybe not quite as much, but matter nonetheless - to mainstreamers... or even better, the disenfranchised-feeling nonvoter who doesn't accept that there is a significant difference between the 2 parties.

Now, having said that, it's only fair to reveal that my strategy for building the party (should the DNC ever ask me) would focus on bringing in some of the 100MM who don't currently vote, often as a result of the feelings of disenfranchisement mentioned above, as opposed to -what has proven so far to be an unsuccessful strategy of- playing tug of war over the Mushy Middle.

But maybe that's just me... I've been known to be FOS before.

16. I'd sure like to whack a few R's over the head with a Bible!
And I mean "Whack" in the Biblical* sense of course!

*I follow the Batman Bible.

8. We don't have a list of dangerous books like they do.
We believe the Bible belongs on the bookshelf like every other book ever written. Would you believe the have "The Silent Spring" as a runner up dangerous book?

14. I felt the same way about "The Silent Spring."
But to these guys, any book that makes you think (rather than telling you how to think) causes trouble.

I have family with a Bible in every room - most have an accompanying book that tells them how to interpret the passages. It's a bad sign for the rest of us when the party destroying our democracy has a base that's brain dead.

11. Dems
appear to be on the wrong side of the divide. I mean if your too stupid not to see the Republicans for who they are, and what they want how are you going to convince people on anything.

19. At this point
All they have left is the capacity to act even stupider than they already do. Let them say anything they like.

The bastards are going down. Sooner or later.

Get used to it.

25. Hope
Edited on Thu Jun-09-05 04:31 PM by jokerman93
Hope springs eternal, and there are distant rumblings of discontent in the land...

(I'm following the Downing Street Minutes story as it unfolds. There is hope here. Maybe.)

21. You obviously hate America.
I'll bet you have flushed a toilet down the bible before. It scares me to think that people like you put tabs of marijuana into Apple Pie. Can you honestly say that you are not an agent of Communist Russia, intent upon the destruction of all that is sacred? Do you deny making rude jokes about Danny Quayle in 1989?
