7. We did this on the CBC in Canada a few weeks ago and the winner of
The Greatest Canadian was Tommy Douglas....He was the man who brought in our Universal Healthcare plan in the 60's....That should say something to those who are currently saying Canadians are not satisfied with our health care.

14. Thomas Jefferson
It was tough, though. MLK and FDR are right up there as well on my list. It just seems to me that Jefferson was the original liberal American. At least for his time. I'm just thankful he was there when they were writing the constitution, etc.
