LTTE Saturday's Cape Cod Times AWESOME

Rely on global media before trusting U.S.
In a May 26 Associated Press report, Donald Rumsfeld commented on the global media possibly jeopardizing U.S. interests around the world.
What interests are they? I thought we were interested in capturing Osama bin Laden after Sept. 11. Suddenly we were going to war in Iraq. The American people were lied to by the Bush administration and scared half to death after we were told day after day by Bush that we were in danger of being attacked by Iraq with WMDs. I am willing to bet the global media are much more accurate than the stuff fed to us by our own media.
In my opinion, our media are controlled by Republican-dominated corporations, and reporters are told that if they don't play ball with the Bush administration they will not have access to the White House. The ultimatum may not be stated that way but that's what it would amount to.
I believe it is an impeachable offense to lie to the American people about why we went to war in Iraq. No one mentions impeachment - not even our democratic senators and congressmen.
The Bush administration may be able to control our national media, but they can't control the global media. What a shame!

1. I am still hoping the RCMP will cross the border and depose this horrible
despot in Washington and install a Democratically elected President for us.
I have my purple inkpad all ready to go.

7. lol - My parents are the last two Republicans on the Cape...
I am a rare MA Republican myself, but I've been educating them on the PNAC.

Ma' Eldritch has been around and gets it, but she's too busy to acknowledge anything. Nearly 70 and a true conservative, she's taking care of everything, everyone, and the victory garden non-stop.

The woman is so unstoppable, I swear she'll live to be a 1000.

Pa' Eldritch is so single-minded, and has such excellent debate skills, nothing will get through to the HC.
Conservative to the core; he fixes his own cars and never pays a penny more than he can compensate for properly.

The last REAL conservatives who still think they're Republican.

Ma will be lightly annoyed but mostly intrigued... and then get back to work.

8. I might suggest Melatonin...
It's a mild sleep aid, a natural hormone.
Don't use it for any other reason than to go to sleep an hour or so earlier than you might otherwise be inclined.

Side effects may include wicked awesome dreams and mild lethargy for a few hours after waking.
Absolutely talk to your own physician 1st, but I prefer it to any of the dextromathorphan, narcotic, or barbituate types.

Haven't yet had the pleasure of this hoohaa.

BTW tell your parents to to look for me out on rte 28
with my Impeach Bush signs.

11. Lol! Will do.
Heck, I always get out there in August - I'll probably see you myself.

As for the drugs;

If you already need knock-out drugs, then melatonin may not help much.
But it is a mild sedative that instills a sense of well-being in most people.

Diphenhydramine is a pernicious little feller - it dries out mucous membranes. One of the reasons you get sleepy is that it literally dehydrates your brain.

Therefore you do not get a full sleep cycle.

Ever notice how you wake up tired after using that stuff to go to sleep?

I generally recommend staying away from stuff like that, but I'm not your doctor, nor am I a physician.
