Purple Heart Bandaid Wearing Repugs - My Daughter's Experience |
|
She's 8 months pregnant, it was 93 degrees. She had borrowed my car, left the lights on and the battery died. She needed a jump - asked a woman to help her who pulled in next to her. The woman said, upon seeing my Kerry/Edwards sticker still on my car "I'm not going to help you start your car, you have a Kerry sticker".
I wouldn't not help a person based on their political beliefs. I couldn't believe this was for real, but, I remembered the disgusting woman, and just all the repugnants who mocked and ridiculed all military who were injured in battle, the glee on their faces.

and the woman refused to help her because of a bumpersticker? Ah - the compassionate conservative in action... By their deeds ye shall know them, it is obvious that whilst they may carry the Bible in their hand they have never bothered to contemplate Christ's teachings.

I don't have any bumper stickers on my car, because I fear it will be keyed or worse, yet this is a bumper sticker I'm considering ordering...I am beyond sick of the hypocrisy!
edited to add to the OP: sorry that your daughter had to deal with such a disgusting human being! :puke:

7. To me, this some kind of mental illness |
|
Probably untreatable, or very difficult to treat, like borderline personality disorder. There is no other possible explaination--well maybe extreme assholism.(of course I'm working on a theory on how extreme conservative thought and the criminal mind have much, too much, in common) I'm very sorry your daughter had to go through this experiance. Anybody who would minimalize our militaries wounded like that needs to do a years volunteer work at the local VA hospital.

she was upset. It wasn't even her bumpersticker, she's not political . . . yet. But she will be. It was outside of Philadelphia, BTW.

That's why it's so sad and disturbing when someone is like this, that some people go the dark route instead of remembering how it feels to be in those same shoes.

I have family that are no longer welcomed in my home and whom I do not forgive for being Republicans. I would not whiz on them if they were on fire.
I am sorry your daughter experienced what she did, however if she gets mad and stays mad something good will have come of the event.

experiencing. People would often not help black people in a bind for the same reason back before the Civil Rights Movement. ("It might be a setup to rob us, so keep going.") This is the fearful bigotry that Rush Limbaugh has so successfully tapped into. It lies underneath the surface of the white audience he appeals to. He is telling them it is all right to be the superior race, to own everything and to live unmolested in their own communities,( except for the maids and gardeners of course). He and his ilk have successfully transferred that hatred and fear to Democrats and liberals.

Superb synopsis! The RW Noisemachine and their paid Blowhards are a huge part of this problem. They WANT THIS, they say, do ANYTHING TO WIN, anything to reach their ideological goals. I just hope and pray the Faux ratings downturn and Air American, et al. are getting people to question the propaganda.

And asked her how she'd feel if I sent letters to the editor, she didn't want me to. I told her I wouldn't use her name, but, my name would be there, so, it would be obvious who she was. Do I have to use my name? I know it would look more legit if I did. I will probably do this.
The Repubs, in general here just outside of Philly are fiscal and not a majority, extreme. I don't think. But some are, and the further away from the city you go, it gets gung ho for Bush quickly. Maybe the both kind of Repugs need to have this mirrored back at them. It's just wrong.
And thankyou Islandblue for the well wishes, I am getting excited to see my little granddaughter. I'm gonna be a 43 year old grandma! It's weird, but cool.

But if it was a need for help I would always put that aside. People come first. Just don't expect me to let them lane-hop in front of me.
