1. Well, the last I saw of the counter we were at 499, 996
and that was about 10:00 am, so I'm guessing....;-)

3. Around a quarter to 1:00 Eastern
The counter was just below 500,000 and on the next refresh it was gone. There were 6 to go the last time I saw it.

The next question is how and when will the letter be attempted to be presented. Obviously the White House is not going to accept it. Conyers will end up making a statement to the press across the street in Lafayette Park (sp?). I am hoping there is a march to the White House being planned, if so I will be there.

5. Unfortunately Cheney and Bush
are laughing at these signatures.

They know it'll come to nothing, they have the corrupt media on their side as they do the House of Representatives, where impeachment starts.

6. impeachment is probably not possible, but we can curtail another war by
stopping this one and putting all the neocons on the defensive. It can also prevent future senate and house votes for wars in the area.

This counts big time. The legislators are talking pull out of Iraq and that means no Iran.

This is a reality check, and Bush will be sent back to crawford to behave for the next three years. If is machine is shut down, he's toast.

but do you really think the Bush war machine will stop at mere signatures?

They didn't give a flying fuck about massive anti-war protests in the US or abroad before Iraq. Don't forget, they own the voting machines too, if things get too ugly.

And if things get WAY too ugly, they can always sabotage the plane carrying the next Democrat giving them a hard time, the same way they did to Wellstone and Carnahan. So fly commercial only, Howard Dean.
