Edited on Tue Jun-14-05 10:13 AM by EVDebs
cartoon, with Bush in a clown suit on the carrier deck, had me rolling on the floor ! This was from May 2003 and I can't find it anywhere on the web...if someone could please repost or direct me to it I'd appreciate it.

He should get a Pulitzer for this one alone...do they GIVE Pulitzers for cartoons ? BTW, today's cartoon about the DSM 'smoking gun' metaphorically speaking is hysterical.

Also, one more vote for the 'greatest page' !

11. Succinct..
Straightforward. Concise. But just one problem... The first wall should have said, "Fantasy", the second one should have said, "Lunatic Delusion", and the BUILDING should have been named "Incompetence".

Now, they're heading for the "Light at the end of the tunnel."

17. The Cycle Of Denial...Overheard On Hate Radio
Try this "logic" on. If we pull out of Iraq then the 1700 dead would have died in vain. They wouldn't want us to leave (as though they get postcards from the edge) and to do so would defame their honor.

Thus, I guess we need to have another 1700 or 17,000 dead to make certain their honor is upheld. Is that what this is now boiling down to?

:argh:

18. that's the problem with these assholes
they don't realize that there is actually a tremendous amount of honor in admitting you were wrong. of course the asshat-in-chief was not wrong, he was lying. But those that believed him would honor this country and its fallen heroes much more if they stood up and said, "we believed the president, we were wrong to do so, he lied to us."

20. It's Not Honor...It's Not Accepting Responsibility
It's easier to blame what's wrong on someone else. Also when you screw up, don't accept what you've done as being wrong, find a scapegoat and divert attention away.

In their conveluted world assuming responsibilty or taking blame is a sign of "weakness"...that somehow admitting people make mistakes, including themselves, makes them vulnerable. Like you, I believe there's a lot of honor in admitting one's mistakes and then showing how you've learned from those mistakes. There's no way this regime or it's followers will ever subscribe to that because that requires being held accountable and as their messes pile up, they are trying harder and harder to hide from them...or pass them off on us.

It reminds me of all the divorced people I know. Rarely do I hear one of the two ever say "I was the one who screwed up". It's always the "ex's" fault...even when it's been years and years since the divorce.

This is exactly the same type of crap they were saying in Vietnam...these morons were "doomed to repeat it" I guess and drag us all along with them.
