Bush for Life? New Bill To Allow Indefinte Presidential Terms
http://www.2ra.org/index.php?c=home&t=p&item=241

According to Conspiracy Planet, "House Judiciary Chairman F. James Sensenbrenner Jr. (R-Wis.)has sponsored legislation to amend the Constitution by repealing the 22nd Amendment, which confines the President to two terms.

"Sensenbrenner, architect of the National ID requirements, which are a violation of the Ninth and Tenth Amendments, is also a prime supporter of the repeal of the Bill of Rights using the USA PATRIOT Act."

Further noting, "If the Republicans hold their current strength, or increase it, in the 2006 Congressional elections, US citizens can expect this measure to pass allowing Bush to remain President.

"Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the 22nd amendment to the Constitution."

Bill introduced in House http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c109:H.J.RES.24.IH:

3. 34 State Legislatures would have to approve it
And that will never happen.

4. This sort of move does not surprise me
I said last fall while working the election that if bu$h were to remain in office that could be the last presidential election we ever see.
If this come to pass, it would be.

5. Don't think this is not possible...
Sensenbrenner has shown his clear contempt, and insanity that he is no longer a well man.

Clearly he does want to attempt to pass the legislation, no matter what, even if its in 2010. He has no real motive except blind faith.

Just like in Star Wars, they want to declare Dick Cheney emporer. And it can't happen unless they steal the votes.

Be sure to email everyone you can at the DNC www.democrats.org regarding this, so it is fully known and made to be seen.

Never forget that election reform must take place to ensure the votes can't be stolen, in many states, including North Carolina. http://www.votersunite.org

But especially, never give up because these people who are out of their minds are afraid....They are afraid of losing power, they are afraid of the people who put them there.

6. When the 22d amendment was passed,
(a Repubican initiative) Harry Truman was president, and it did not apply to Harry. Only to presidents after Harry. If this proposal were to allow a 3d term for a president serving at the time it passes Congress, that would be a far less fair arrangement. (Anyway, it probably could not be ratified by 2008, and once out of office the slimeball has less chance than Teddy Roosevelt for a comeback.)

If the 22nd had not been passed, NB, Bill Clinton would be in his fourth term by now.

7. I wish I could graphically say what I think about Sensenbrenner
but it would be deleted in a flash! In milder terms he is the most disgusting excuse for a senator I have ever seen (even tops Jesse Helms). He should be censured and thrown out of the Senate for his behavior last Friday. He is a perfect example of "Republicans Gone Wild." Drunk with power, says I. Throw the whole "lott" overboard.

10. Point of clarification:

Sensenbrenner's in da Hizzouse, not the Senate.

That being said, he IS a rather disgusting excuse for a Representative.

9. If passed would the repeal have the effect of prohibiting presidents
before its passage from running again, like say, WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON, whom 63% of respondents to an AOL poll said they'd vote for again?

Be careful of what you wish for . . . He's rested and he's lookin' for a little action (politically, you freepers!)

13. He Would Annihilate Silverspoon
It would be Reagan/Mondale revisited. Li'l Georgie would be run out of town on a rail if he had to run head to head to Clinton.

Sensenbrenner must be even dumber than he sounds.

14. I thought Wisconsin was a "Blue State"?
How do they explain Sense-lessbrenner?

Ralph didn't get on the ballot, so everyone stayed home but the ReTHUGs?

Did he promise to pass bills outlawing ALL but Wisconsin cheeses?

This whackjob sounds like a Hoosier Congressman...

20. I think it can't be done in time to benefit Bush
But if Cheney makes a "dark-horse" run for the White House as reported by Woodward and the voting machines perform as programmed once again, we'll get the same song, same verse. The only noticeable change will be that the emperor will no longer be hiding behind that translucent curtain in the Oval Office.

21. I have no problem with this
this and the requirement for being a natural born U.S. should be abolished.

If the vote is fixed, Bush will win a third term. If the amendment is not repealed the vote will be fixed and President Frist is in. Since the GOP has a platform of evil the individual person carrying it out does not matter.

Only FDR ever ran successfully for more than two terms, 1 out 43 does not make a very convincing precedent.

22. It was a lot harder to rig an election back then
Now a lot of the votes are counted on Diebold's "Accuvote" software, which is an oxymoron right up there with Jumbo Shrimp.
