"Obstructionist" can be a noble title in some circumstances.
The Republicans accuse the democrats of obstructionism. Very well!

When the NAZI's were ravaging Europe aiming at world conquest, American, Soviet and British obstructionists fought to prevent them and to create a world in which they would not make any further attempts, and these obstructionists succeeded. Where would we be if they had not?

When the Japanese militarists were attacking China and the Pacific, as a step to world conquest, Chinese, American and British obstructionists did their best to prevent them and American obstructionists went so far as to use nuclear weapons to create a world in which they would not try again. Wasn't that better than not obstructing them?

When Crusaders were ravaging the Near East, attempting to impose Christian overlords on an unwilling populace, Muslim obstructionists did their best to roll them back, and under the leadership of Kurdish general Salah-ad-Din, they finally succeeded.

When the Mongols were ravaging eastern Europe, the chivalry of Poland tried to obstruct them. Unfortunately, those obstructionists failed.

Do we hope that the Democratic Party will succeed in obstructing Republican plans to destroy the social contract that Americans built in the twnetieth century, as their grandfathers succeeded in obstructing Japanese and German plans? Damn right we do!

3. Call us Obstructionists, Call us Liberals--please!
I'm tired of the Dem party being painted as losers, pussys, whatever. So call us Fighters, call us Patriots, Obstructionists, Liberals!

"... if by a liberal they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind,
someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions,
someone who cares about the welfare of the people-
their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs,
their civil rights, their civil liberties..
if that is what they mean
then I am proud to be a liberal."

4. Dietrich Bonhoeffer was an obstructionist
As were Dan West, Ted Studebaker, Rachel Corrie and Marla Ruzicka. I'd be honored to stand with that group any day of the week. We'd be joined by Mohandas Gandhi, Steve Biko, Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu and Martin Luther King, Jr.
