Dean's Hidden Fans !!!!Time Magazine)
Latest edition of Time magazine....

They say that while our great leaders are trying to fuck Dean six ways from Sunday, that he is being cheered on by the fans who put him into this job in the first place: the state party leaders.

Ain't it intersting that the people who are fighting this goddamn war in the trenches love what he says and want more of it while our ultra-godamn fucking national politicians wish he were dead. Excuse me---but who the hell are they fighting for (or sitting back on their fat asses and NOT fighting for)??

Only thing that bothers me is this: Apparently, according to this article, Dean is bringing in about $1 million per week while the repupkes are bringing in at a minimum twice that amount. They report that the big donors are not giving because Dean can't woo them enough BUT because Dean and the DNC aren't returning their calls. If this is true, then Dean needs to wake up. It's all about money, unfortunately, and we need to at least return calls.

1. IF that's true (that last part).
Who knows if it is or not. I trust the mainstream fucked up "media" about as far as I can throw Mike Tyson.

As for Dean's fans, I hope they also mentioned the millions of fans of his who are just everyday people, not state party leaders, too.

6. cryingshame--don't have it in front of me but.....
I'm sure if you go to their website you will be able to look up this current edition. It is not one of their featured articles. It's one of those 3/4 page pieces of interest. Oh, and I wanted to say something to the poster before you---unfortunately, I kept hearing over the last weeks this same criticism about Dean and the big donor fund raising but didn't know what the hell it was about until I read this demi-article.

3. Link..
"Even so, there's little talk of ousting Dean, whose support is stronger than ever among the Democrats who were largely responsible for putting him there in February. That includes state party chairmen from conservative parts of the country. "He's doing an excellent job," says Wayne Dowdy, party chairman in Mississippi, where, he says, a Dean appearance in April drew 1,200 people ("We've never had half that number before at a state party event") and raised more than $100,000. State Democratic parties have complained for years about being ignored by the national operation in Washington. Since taking office, Dean has traveled to some two dozen states and has sent state groups nearly $1 million. In places like North Dakota, chairman David Strauss will be able to use a promised $84,000 to pay six months of salaries for an executive director and three other jobs. Still, Dean's manner has alienated some of the party's biggest donors, who grumble they can't even get their phone calls returned by the national party headquarters. Dean aides say he is doing fine for a year in which there's no presidential race, raising roughly $1 million a week so far..."

4. It's not just about money. It's about what the big donors want
if their money is taken in conjunction with a phone call.

People are welcome to write big checks without talking to Dean if they just want to support the party and nothing in return.

9. zidzi-only thing that bothers me about that observation in Time
(and like I said above to someone else. I had been hearing this for weeks and didn't know what the fuck it was about until I read the article regarding the big donors).....anyway, what bothers me is that even as I would like to puke, I know that we have to deal with a certain amount of slime in order to get the money to win. I suspect that the "slime" ain't exactly the corporations. The "slime" would be more like big unions. And, you know, when it comes to slime I would infinitely prefer kissing the balls of unions and their common people core over the goddamn fucking corporations and the mega rich. Dean may have to return a few calls.

Dean should talk to union reps.

Not necessarily to corporate lobbyists, though.

11. The other thing I think about the
Big Donor's not getting their phone calls returned is..how much of that is true.

I always use that caveat with the mswm.

We should ask Dean..

13. But the reality is that Dean is raising more money
than any other Dem in an off-election year WITHOUT money from the wealthy fucking pains in the ass who demand some quid pro quo for their donation.

How many fucking times does this have to be repeated here at DU before these kinds of innacurate posts stop?

For fuck's sake--try researching your post if you are going to make such broad claims.
