Queen of Fox News has interesting professional past: Scientology
Queen of Fox News has interesting professional past
Greta Van Susteren is the queen at Fox News and regularly wins the ratings wars against her old employer CNN reports the Kansas City Star.

The Midwest newspaper gushed about Van Susteren's success and quoted a source parenthetically about how "she and her husband are heavily into the Church of Scientology."

But Greta and hubby John Coale, both lawyers, seem to have been more than just "into" Scientology. They did some rather interesting legal work reportedly linked to their church.

It is often said that suing is something like a religious rite for Scientology. Maybe this explains why Van Susteren and Coale once appeared together to figuratively sing "hallelujah" from a court pew in Ohio.

1. Amendment I
Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

In other words, who cares? Let Greta do whatever the fuck she pleases

There is a lot of hate here, is this a path people want to take? What if someone gets hurt because people are threatened by scientology.

8. The $cienos are much more likely to hurt someone
The Co$ has an appalling history of harassing their critics. They go to great lengths to harass and harangue their critics at the homes, their jobs and their churches. They even harass people associated with their critics. They'll litigate to the point of barritry and then continue to litigate in other venues. They can defend themselves.

and should never have been granted that status by the IRS. It's more in the nature or organized crime.

16. Exactly
I think the question is: Why is Scientology a scam and a cult, while Christianity practiced by the 700 Club is religion?

Whats the difference?

19. You are correct.
The allegation that Scientology is a "cult" is not really relevant. The word "cult" has taken on some unwarranted negative overtones in recents times (last hundred years or so) largely because people involved in the major religions see cults as being on the fringe and therefore suspect. But in ancient times there were hundreds of cults, and the only difference between them and the major religions of the ancient world were the number of people involved and the very specific focus of the group. So there's really nothing wrong with being a cult, technically.

The problem with Scientology, as I see it (to answer your question), is that it is a completely made-up thing. A hack science fiction writer literally just made it up; its only reason for existence was to make money for L. Ron Hubbard, and because it was so successful, it has evolved into an institution whose only purpose is self-perpetuation. This is a lot like real major religious institutions, except those actually do some positive things, usually, to advance their teachings. Scientology does *nothing* except recruit members, take their money, try to convince them to keep with their selfish "program" of self-improvement, and commit acts of violence against anyone who gets in their way (legal, mental and physical violence).

A lot of people accept it as a religion because they have no information about it. If people knew even the basics, that Hubbard fabricated it for the purpose of making money, no one would accept it willingly as a religion. It is nothing more than the biggest scam on Earth.

I hope the fox news/reps/freepers read this, Scientologists don't think too highly of other religious (including Christianity in all its forms).

Seriously, some of those Co$ people make freepers look sane. Not to mention they pratice many rule bending and law breaking activities, and have directly (or indirectly) participated in scamming, harassment, theft, assault, and even death
