DON'T FORGET: Rumsfeld LIED to the Committee
You may forget what breakfast cereal youate 4 months ago but you don't forget learning about a bogus uranium buy from Niger 4 months ago and then LIE to the Senate Armed Services Committee about it.

Big NO-NO, Rummy.

1. Wouldn't it be great...
if they called his ass back, and asked him why he lied about that? They won't, of course.

2. Don't be so sure
There are some on the case that will not let this drop.

3. They might call him back to explain
if enough of us turn the heat up on them. Let's remind them of their duties and insist that any dereliction thereof will be considered by us, their employers, as cause for dismissal and prosecution.

4. How can they let it go?
He CLEARLY lied to them

Folksy sayings shouldn't get him out of it...

5. Backpeddling
He said on MTP this weekend that he misspoke and isntead of saying that he learned about the fake evidnce "in recent days," he should have said in recent weeks. Does 40 weeks ago count as recent?

6. Did he swear an oath at the committee hearing?
Just curious. . .

7. Yes I believe you have to
IT is like testifying in court.

9. Well then. . .
If it can be proven that he knowingly lied under oath, he's toast. But, what effect would that have? Bush would remain in power and Cheney would probably get him to appoint Frank Carlucci or somebody equally objectionable as Secretary of Defense.

8. They go to give testimony before the Committee
I believe it's sworn.
