the good Rev. Benny Hinn hits a snag in Nigeria
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4619733.stm

About 300,000 people attended the event each night - a modest congregation by Nigerian crusade standards. It is estimated that about 1 million worshippers attend the monthly Holy Ghost Congress service organised by The Redeemed Christian Church God (RCCG) at the same venue.

Whatever disappointment he felt on the first and second days of the miracle crusade, Hinn kept to himself - but he opened up with anger on the final day.

"Four million dollars down the drain," he shouted into the microphone from the huge rostrum.

He then announced publicly that he would not provide any more funds, and that the local organisers should pay all outstanding bills from the collections they made on the first two days.

---god must really love this man.....

"Here is a very small sampling of financial records from the summer of 2003. At that time Hinn had crusades in St. Petersburg, Russia and Stockholm, Sweden then departed for a four day whirlwind trip to Italy and London, billing it as a simple layover.
* A hotel bill for room service and chauffeur services at the Lanesborough Hotel in London
* Tips given to staff at Lanesborough Hotel in London after a one day stay
* Tips given to the staff at the Savoia Hotel in Milan
* $5000US dollars cash given to Pastor Benny Hinn (PBH), no details for the reason
* A gift from Benny Hinn to a 'homeless woman with a baby' of $20US

4. God must love money,
A lot of preachers seemed to have made a lot of it in his name...also seems that repubs can trash their fellow human beings as long as there is money in it for them....then it's allright....Ask Tom DeLay..."Any preacher with more than two suits is a fraud"....Lenny Bruce.

12. From the Gospel According to Benny
Benny Chapter 6, verses 33-38

/33 / Now many saw them going and recognized them, and they hurried there on foot from all the towns and arrived ahead of them.

/34/ As he went ashore, he saw a great crowd.

/35/ When it grew late, his disciples came to him and said, "This is a deserted place, and the hour is now very late;

/36/ send them away so that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy something for themselves to eat."

/37/ But he screamed at them, "WHY DIDN'T YOU SET UP FOOD CONCESSION STANDS LIKE I OUTLINED IN THE HOLY BUSINESS PLAN? WHERE'S THE MERCHANDISE I TOLD YOU TO BRING? DO YOU REALIZE HOW MUCH MONEY WE'RE GONNA LOSE HERE, DAD-DAMMIT?!"

/38/He then announced publicly that he would not provide any more funds, and that the local organisers should pay all outstanding bills from the collections they made on the first two days.

21. He wouldn't have had the same trouble attracting a crowd
If he were still alive, that is.

Benny: I heard about a new species of bird yesterday. It's a cross between a duck and a falcon.
Short Old Guy: What's it called?
Benny: A 'don'. (pause until the audience gets the joke a moment later).

18. think about this.....
"He then announced publicly that he would not provide any more funds, and that the local organisers should pay all outstanding bills from the collections they made on the first two days."

Can you imagine a penniless, hungry Nigerian who gave all she had to hear and see this "man of faith" and hoping for a miracle, only to realize that what she gave only went to pay for Hinn's jet fuel and staff tips?

The cost of miracles these days is awful, I tell ya.

20. He's like the Pharisees Jesus railed about.
Or worse, a money-changer in the Temple. I have faith that he'll have his own special spot in Hell for that.

23. They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers.
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=mark%2012:38-43;&version=31;

Mark 12:38-43 (New International Version)

38As he taught, Jesus said, "Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces, 39and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. 40They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely."

The Widow's Offering

41Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny.

43Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.
