MOVE TO SEIZE SUPREME COURT JUSTICE'S HOUSE -- FOR HOTEL!
http://www.freestarmedia.com/hotellostliberty2.html

Could a hotel be built on the land owned by Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter? A new ruling by the Supreme Court which was supported by Justice Souter himself itself might allow it. A private developer is seeking to use this very law to build a hotel on Souter's land.

-------
The proposed development, called "The Lost Liberty Hotel" will feature the "Just Desserts Café" and include a museum, open to the public, featuring a permanent exhibit on the loss of freedom in America. Instead of a Gideon's Bible each guest will receive a free copy of Ayn Rand's novel "Atlas Shrugged."

Clements indicated that the hotel must be built on this particular piece of land because it is a unique site being the home of someone largely responsible for destroying property rights for all Americans.

"This is not a prank" said Clements, "The Towne of Weare has five people on the Board of Selectmen. If three of them vote to use the power of eminent domain to take this land from Mr. Souter we can begin our hotel development."

1. Justice in his lifetime
I didn't check but if I remember correctly he was one of the justices in the majority.

3. I know it was O'Connor
Rehnquist, Scalia, and Thomas.

I don't know who the 5th was...

Was it Souter?

8. Actually, I think you're wrong.
I'm going to check the Supremes web site and find out for sure.

11. I checked the web site and it's running very S-L-O-W
My patience wore out. Stevens wrote the majority.
I think Souter joined in.

Rehnquist and his cronies dissented.

6. Well, God bless him in his efforts.
This is a satire site, right? Such a perfect, sweet, splendid irony could not really occur, right?

Unless three people on that board are really, really annoyed.

12. This may not suit Souter
but these old guys and gal need a taste of their own medicine. Think of all the "little" Americans around the country who will likely be displaced for corporate profits, as the CEO's footmen fill the pockets of politicians. Can this SCOTUS decision be eliminated? how?

13. Funny. But "Atlas Shrugged"?
:puke: :puke:

Why not Wendell Barry's "The Unsettling of America"? or Hightower's "Thieves in High Places" ?
