3. That is NOT NOT what those polls say |
|
been watching all day and been watching them try to deceive. The only good poll number (from this Gallup poll run in Baghadad) was that they thought they might be better off 5 years from now. EVERY OTHER NUMBER WAS PATHETIC....they fucking hate Bush, they fucking hate us, they say things are worse than before, etc. I kid you not, he had like a 25% approval rating. But, as the day progressed they spinned these numbers into "Iraqi's feel optomistic since being liberated by the US". In fact at the beginning of the day they even interviewed a GI who basically spit on Bush and they said people in cafe's couldn't stand to watch him at the UN.

on the radio this morning that 66% of Iraqis feel they are better off now that Saddam is gone. I thought that was amazing -- ONLY 66%!! And the Iraqis overwhelmingly prefer France or the US. I guess we're really winning the hearts and minds of the Iraqis.

5. well, if they LOVE him there... |
|
when can we expect him to take a victory lap through Baghdad to 'feel the love' ???
what am I thinking... the Most Hated Man On Earth can't even make a public appearance in his own country much less any other inhabited country on the planet.

Seems to me the optimisitc vote from the Iraqis says two things...
1) things have to get better 2) they're looking forward to the day when we leave and they can clean things up and get back to life.
Anything specific about the US was a total negative.

8. I don't know if we saw the same poll |
|
but I saw one-I believe-on CNN where 47% of the Iraqis feel worse off than they did before Hussein was gone-as opposed to 33%.

9. Someone should remind the "media" that Saddam's poll numbers |
|
were quite good in Iraq, too. For the same reason. They both have big guns.

12. good point. Saddam used to win re-election with 99.9% of the vote |

polls don't work if people are afraid to tell the truth.

11. Have you noticed that everytime a bad poll for Bush comes out |
|
the next day they do another poll with opposite results? They make me sick with their damn polls.
Think about it. What the f**k are Iraqis going to say, what with tanks, guns and soldiers all over the place?

13. There was a satirical "poll" during the Vietnam War |
|
supposedly polling the Vietnamese people, which pointed out this same problem. One of the items was:
Do you approve of the way the U.S. military has handled this war, or shall we shoot you now? Approve - 17% Shoot Now - 0% No Response - 83%
Every question had that 83% no response rate. In a footnote it explained that "The rather high no response rate on this poll was due to death, etc."
