There is a terrorist coming. His name is Dennis. |
|
As I feared last night, the high pressure to the east is starting to weaken, and the path is slightly more northward, and bringing it closer to the west coast of Florida.
I know these things are impossible to predict. But this sucks!

I'm waiting for a trailer to be dropped off, to haul away all the building materials from my yard before it hits.

3. damn! I thought it was heading west. |
|
Not that I wish it on the people in Louisiana, but I don't want it to hit us either! Plus my neice & nephew are coming to visit this weekend and I don't think a hurricane will be their idea of a good time.

5. Joe Bastardi is predicting a *worst case scenario* for New Orleans... |
|
I don't like his politic, but he's pretty accurate with hurricanes...

8. that would really suck for New Orleans |
|
since their elevation is so low. The storm surge would be a nightmare there.

We'll just have to wait and see where Dennis heads.

13. "They" are largely correct though |
|
All it will take is a large hurricane to strike the mouth of the Mississippi River and head directly north and New Orleans will be in a bad way. They got really lucky last year when the storm (was it Ivan?) veered east at the last minute. It's only a matter of time until a big storm hits the Crescent City, and when it does the results won't be pretty.

10. We need to destroy the environment! Kill the terrorists! |
|
Sadly they're doing just that. And wouldn't it be ironic if pollution is contributing to the very ecological decay that will in turn kill us?

Georgia is on the "bad" side of this storm after being hit hard by rains from Cindy yesterday. This is NOT good. The flooding and damage in Georgia is already awful right now (have family and friends there).
