Would $300billion spent on US ports, airports, etc. have made us safer? |
|
Safer than spending it in Iraq (i.e., giving it to Halliburton war profiteers)?
Damn straight it would have.

the infrastructure needs of OUR country would have (and could still) make us safer. I am not suggesting strict nationalism, but rather a a re-focusing on what WE need here...as a society.. Remember what the Bible sayd aboout "idle hands".. Our idle hands (hands OFF our problems) have allowed our money-grubbing leaders to spend that money abroad, via contracts for extreme mischief-making awarded to their pals..
Replublicans want to "starve the beast"...the beast, in their eyes, IS the societal wellbeing of our nation.. The beast, in OUR eyes, is the evil that is perpetrated across the globe..in our names..and to our own detriment...in the form of hatred directed at all of us, from the rest of the world..
The leaders get our money, and we get bupkus to show for it..and ridicule for even complaining about it:(
