Remember the "Summer of the Shark"? This is the "Summer of the LIE"
Edited on Mon Jul-14-03 01:31 PM by underpants
I make this comment as we are getting closer and closer to August. Historically a slow news period in general but especially in politics as Congress has gone home and *sigh* W usually goes on vacation in Crawford of all places.

The uranium lie looks like it will carry into August and we might be privy to watching a W meltdown when he gets peppered everyday with more and more questions.

I read elsewhere (LBN ..."case crumbling") that the fact that this lie is not isolated and is indeed symptomatic of the W&Co. MO is starting to be discussed on the air and in print (soon). This is real trouble for them and watching them (hopefully) squirm would be great.

Remember the "Who shot J.R.?" T-shirts in the late 70's?

How about some "Who LIED to the U.S.?" t-shirts for this summer?

1. The last "Summer of Lie"...
I remember was the Watergate Hearings...I was 12, and pissed that the trials kept pre-empting cartoons all day...

2. Worries
One thing that worries me is that we spend all summer on this, and then in September or October they find some super duper WMD secret base that proves that he had weapons, and was working on Nukes. And everybody jumps on it, and President Bush gets to talk about how reckless and quick to judgement we all were (well, who ever the new press secretary is will say that anyway.)

But I don't know what you can do about this--the truth is it is embarassing not to have found the WMDs. And if they didn't exist why did we have to go to war?
