Would it be acceptable for an American President to utter a teeny weeny, itsy bitsy 16 word falsehood like that one in a State of the Union address to the American public?

Gee, the word count of a lie sure is relevant in measuring it's significance, isn't it?

Let's have a look at a few other false statements in history, that also did not exceed 16 little words.

So quit your nitpicking, people, and cut the "president" some slack. What possible harm can 16 little words do anyway?

Married to their grade school history concept of George Washington and the Cherry tree fable and truly believe that telling a lie - no matter what the context - even (or especially) about sex - this is the absolute worst sin a politician can commit. Screwing millions with an incredibly unfair tax cut, STARTING wars - in defiance of the U.N. and all international law, etc. - all these aren't treated nearly as seriously - they aren't nearly as attention getting as the concept of the idiot chimp being busted for uttering a simple lie. Never mind that the Chimp Regime was referencing the same bogus docs in their pitches for war to Congress and the U.N.!

Yep. Very succinctly and appropriately put, T. It's really a surreal experience living as an American citizen during this Bush Reign of Terror. There have been a couple of moments when I've actually found myself wishing that we were all wrong about these monsters. But...if you've got your eyes open - there's no mistaking the fact that our nation is being taken to places it has never gone - nor was it intended to ever go. Representative government in America has been replaced by a fascist, represive, lawless regime that is bent on using the world's greatest military to seize a global empire for the exclusive benefit of it's own corportate interests! A regime that will stop at nothing to accomplish its goals!
