A heads up: NYT's Tom Friedman to be on Imus in five minutes. |
|
7:29 Eastern - Tom Friedman of the NYT to be on MSNBC's Imus in the Morning.
Whether or not you hate Imus, this should be interesting.

2. Talking about london bombing now. |
|
He said that these terrorists belong to a Jihadist death cult, and london's best response is to load up the double-deckers with people waving the British flags, saying "up your nose with a rubber hose."
Now he's talking about 9/11. He said the only way to root out this kind of problem is "when the village does it." In other words, Muslim people themselves are responsible for the attacks of their Islamist brothers, because they don't stop them and tell them it's wrong.

I guess Imus is supposed to think that's macho.
I suppose its too much to ask the NYTimes to have experts that understand the topics they are writing about.

Often on DU, people will ask why journalists don't report the truth, so to speak. Tom is showing why: it is a mistake to assume that journalists are any smarter of more insightful than the average American.
Friedman is starting to do okay on the Plame case. (***on edit: He just went off track, and shows a lack of insight on Rove's role.)

so hard up for a new book to read, and neither of the local bookstores had anything good that I hadn't read, and so I bought one of his books. If I had an outhouse, it wouldn't have been a total waste of money.

9. Why would I be interested in anything Friedman says... |
|
He has proved himself to be nothing more than totally clueless, on a wide variety of subjects.

10. I actually expected him to spend some time talking about Miller. |
|
Instead, he attacked Muslims and pushed his book.
Seems so narcissistic.

There may be some real matter/anti-matter concerns here.
Keep us posted.
