show, there was no wine or pot - she was very sober when she ranted
on about life being unfair like Bush being re-elected, etc. The pot and wine came later.

She is the type of character you would "expect" to say such a thing: a flakey California former hippie, still living out the hippie persona. The statement says nothing about the feelingsa of the show or its writers. It onlyu says something (that you would expect) about the character.
