Do you have friends and family who are ** supporters? |
|
How's the Rove/Plame/Niger etc issue playing with them?
Are you finding that the RWers you know are waking up in any way, shape, or form?

He says he's liberal on social issues, but not about war. Thinks * is great and the UN is trying to take over the world. Can you tell he watches Fox? I wouldn't be surpeised though if he had no opinion on the Rove/Plame scandal.

3. My dad is a **supporter |

When I asked him about Rovegate, he said it was nothing compared to Clinton getting a blowjob.
I kid you not. That is all they can think about.

they still LOVE Shrub and don't think any of this is worthwhile. (those are my words not theirs) Not a single one of them has even begun to question anything that has been in the news recently, and will probably continue to be blissfully ignorant, because they want to be. They hate Dems, and just refuse to listen to anything that doesn't come from the Repubs. Unless and until someone in the Republican party starts to take some of these concerns seriously and begin to put extreme pressure on the Bush Regime, my relatives will continue to believe that the Dems are just out to frame Shrub for something, not believing any of it.
They still HATE Clinton, and think Shrub is morally superior in everyway. Whenever you bring up anything bad about Shrub, they immediately revert to how 'bad' Clinton was, etc. Its basically a waste of breath to even try to have a discussion with them...

would have some shred of decency, and at some point, should the evidence become so overwhelming (of course, I believe it is already there), come forward and publicly state that this is unacceptable and the Shrub Regime must be held accountable. I would also hope that someone knowing something, that is an insider of the Shrub Regime, would have that 'missing link', that would put everything together, plainly, and would come forward, or at least let someone else know what that information is, and they come forward (Deep Throat situation), so this presidency would be revealed for what it is.
Personally, I believe more than enough has been revealed about this presidency to call for impeachment, at the very least. But I believe family members would have to be hit over the head with enough evidence, like a ton of bricks, for them to believe any of it is true.
But I am not holding my breath...

7. Every last relative on my dad's side, far as I know, is a flaming puke. |
|
My uncle used to record Rush's TV show and save the tapes up. I assume he beats off to them. His wife has morphed over the years from a laid-back sensible woman to a judgemental fundie prude. My cousins just nod in agreement with it all. Their grandchildren are budding ministers or fundivangelicals otherwise. My stepmother is a dem, as is all of her family. My mom's people are "democrats" in old fashioned sense. They all think this war is a bit of heaven, and they bemoan all the "troop bashing" that is going on. One of my mom's cousins, who still calls herself a democrat, thinks Dick Cheney is a gift from God. Some of the younger folks on my mom's side are also becoming fundivangelicals.
Funny, the relative I am closest to politically is my step-grandmother. She likes to bring out her Clinton WH Christmas ornaments and show them off. She says things like "This Bush has to go." Her business partner is gay, and she raves about him all the time. She loves my BF to death, and asks about him every time I see her.

I suspect they think Rovegate is a liberal smear, but I don't know for sure. We haven't talked in a long while--thank goodness.
No RW's I know are waking up at all. They are still true believers in their "savior" George Jesus Bush.

voted for chimpy because "he will get the terrorists". After the election I sent her a copy of the front page of the Daily Mirror with the quote "How can 59,054,087 people be so DUMB?" She has not spoken to me since.
