Bush will pick whoever they tell him to pick |

And rove, cheney and company will tell him to pick the most rightwing hardcore woman that they can find. End of mystery. The only question is will he be able to read her name off the teleprompter. After all, he's had only a few hours to practice.
A very controversial pick is in their best interest to distract the base and the lapdogs from rove. But chimp has nothing to do with it. The little monkey/puppet will merely be reading a name picked by the same crowd that is being investigated by an independent prosecutor.

The notion that's he's been laboring over CV's is unbelievably ludicrous.

...with just that end in mind-- that, and the knowledge that the ultra-faithful base, the RW christian ideologues, must be rallied during the administration's time of need. The WH and the neocons in congress need a vocal, fanatical core of support that won't think twice about invoking religion, race, or any other form of bigotry to keep the less rabid in line. What better way to achieve that than to throw some red meat at a SCOTUS nomination? If it goes down that way, it will have Rove's fingerprints and saliva all over it.

10. And when Rove does pick... |
|
He is going to go for punishment. Damn the Libs and the public for daring to question his role in the Plame case!

9. Unfortunately for the Bush Administration, no amount of |

spin and misdirection will help. This is a legal matter, and the courts are part of the reality-based community.
